He just turned 32 and he is having his worst season since 2012... .288/.336/.398 this season with below average defense

With the talk of moving Julio too, gotta figure this is what the FO has in mind.

But Julio is on a cheap contract. Why would we need to get rid of Julio to sign price?

packaging Julio with CJ may be the only wat to offload that contract, Frank Wren left a complete shite show for Hard and Cop to deal with. I do think it will have to be a middle of the rotation youngster for Julio and CJ.

I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole if I were another GM

I'd say Julio and CJ would get a lotto ticket if the Braves paid half of CJ's contract. No deal with CJ would bring back a quality piece unless Miller or Freeman were going with him.

I don't think they would sell low. He should be sticking around and we can just hope he'll turn it around.

If you don't understand why we would want a guy who has been an Ace for the last 6 years versus a guy that currently has a 4.71 era on the season I really can't help you.

Right now we can probably move Julio's contract because he's young and signed relatively cheaply compared to his past performance. But if we keep him and he performs next year like he has this year then we are likely stuck with him, and have another Chris Johnson type contract situation on our hands.

Throw in that Julio has an extremely high strain throwing motion(the Braves already tried to get him to pitch differently in the minors because of it, and he couldn't) and it makes even more sense to trade him rather than keep him long term.

Shelby looks like shite tonight. No movement on pitches. Flat and they are hitting everything.

Somebody has to have some pitching prospects recovering from elbow surgery for us to grab I'm sure.

So are we likely done? Maybe just Maybin left, and of course hoping we can get rid of CJ?

I hope we keep Maybin personally...

Yeah I don't think we'll be making a move. Keeping Maybin is probably the smart decisin even though his value is the highest it will ever be. There just isn't anyone behind him that can play CF with Mallex Smith struggling big time in Gwinnett.

I don't remember where but I read earlier he wasn't really being shopped. Didn't make much sense.
