How are they different than Rummel, Brother Martin or Holy Cross or even John Curtis? Lots of Curtis kids are just regular kids who would go there anyway. Not like no athletes already go there. I got cousins playing for all of them and they could start for just about anyone.

Nah… I don’t think Curtis has had many kids “whom would be there anyway” in their history

They would be Ecole Classique if that was the kids they got

They go there on their own - they pay. My friend’s kids would go there regardless and they are 2 stud athletes. He pays for both to go there. They could have gone to Rummel or Jesuit but he went there and they go there. Lots of kids like that. They are Curtis people. They don’t get cuts or scholarships. There are lots of them.

Anybody care to guess where Catholic’s starting QB lives?
But to that point, Live Oak has a Stud softball player living in the heart of Central…
The pendulum swings both ways

Watson or Central, if I had to guess.

Catholic would have zero championships if they there wasn't select and non-select. It wasn't until the split that they started to win championships.

I played at a public school that lost in 4 straight years to private schools in the playoffs. One of those a dome loss.

The split is dumb

True! The 4:30am bus ride worked fine for defending Champ Ruston last year.

Central met up at 7:00am which is still too early for me lol

I think Central thrives on being under estimated. Some of the social media post from our friends on the I-20 had Ruston winning 60- 0; when the score could have easily been 55 - 0 Central ( dropped TD ; FG missed & Blocked)

Last year Central went up to Monroe and "UPSET" Neville ; this year went up to Monroe AGAIN ...this time they were "LUCKY" to beat Neville

....Would like to personally thank the Neville coach for the bulletin board material "Ruston is gonna beat the Brakes Off Central"

In the Dome It was "All Gas and No Brakes "

Mike Collins is the Neville coach, he grew up in Ruston and played for the Bearcats in the late 70’s.

Everyone from Ruston was sure of an arse kicking, including me. ??

Central earned it

When is the last time a public best Catholic? The split makes it easier on the lesser public school divisions

Do we really need to go down this rabbit hole again? West Monroe ring a bell?

And went to a Catholic middle school. I guess their public attendance zone owns them in your world.

If you were in the same district with schools that recruit like Catholic, Jesuit, Brother Martin, Evangel, Second Baptist and the biggest recruiter in Louisiana High School history John Curtis, you welcome an equal playing field like in other states.

Umm Catholic is in the same district with schools that recruit like the schools you listed. You just conveniently left Zachary and Central off your list.

I get it. It’s just frustrating when you hear that Rummel or Jesuit or BM or Curtis or whoever is recruiting. Of course they are “recruiting”. All those schools mentioned above are recruiting every 7th grade boy in the metro NO area. How else would they get students to agree to pay $10k a year to go there. The question is are they giving them all a free ride. Outside of the elite $$ Nola schools like Newman, CD, etc. I don’t see how most can afford to give a whole football team free tuition and not have a complete revolt from the parents of the tuition paying kids.

Catholic never won a state football championship until the split.

2015
2017 - Forfeit
2020 - Forfeit
2021
2023

Before the split, Catholic had all the hope and would get beat every year in the playoffs. 2013 was the first year of the split. 2012 - Mandeville beat Catholic, 2011 - No playoffs, 2010 - St. Aug., 2009 - West Monroe, 2008 - No playoffs.

Based on your logic Catholic has owned public schools forever. In fact, Catholic only benefited from the split and the watered down competition.
