I'd be pissed too.

That money could be used for another waterfall at Alabama football ops.

But will they drop the Birmingham designation and go to UA, or Alabama?

Well that’s a dumb comparison. Bama isn’t Alabama State University, it’s the University of Alabama. Completely different from ULL using the Louisiana monicker when LSU isn’t the university of Louisiana.

Pretty sure UAB plays basketball at Bartow, not Legacy Arena.

I don't see why. UAB already owns Bartow, would have to rent out Legacy, and they don't need a ~17k seat arena (Bartow is ~9k).

I don't think they've hosted an NCAAT game either since 2008 because of the venue.

That whole area is looking nice.

Yes. The BJCC Arena (formerly Coliseum) was renamed Legacy Arena 2-3 years ago.

that will be good for the Bowl game in Bham as well.

They should bring back the Super 7 high school championship games to Bham as well once the stadium is done. Alternating sites between Tuscaloosa and Auburn each year is lame in my opinion.

South Alabama is so far behind the curb

its amazing Mobile has a Bowl game at Ladd Stadium given the quality of the facilities there. Phil Savage was even trying to hint at moving the Senior Bowl away from Mobile given the quality that Ladd Stadium lacks.

Bartow is also on campus and Legacy is on the other side of downtown.

I'm all for them moving it back to Bham too. Last game I saw at Legion Field was Prattville-Hoover in '06 and it was fun. Doesn't really have that unique feel in T-Town or Auburn.

If they go with the designs that have been floated around, the stadium will be perfect for what they do.

Now, If I were UAB, i'd start scheduling at least 3-4 thursday night games each season. The Bama and Auburn fans aren't going to go to a UAB game on Saturday, but I bet plenty would at that venue on a thursday night. They'd at least buy season tickets considering they aren't that expensive. I know I would.

I don't think it is lame. I think the kids really like getting to play in JHS and BDS, but I agree they should move it back to Bham.
