We should expect higher standards of conduct for players vs drunk dumb fans
Lamar is being banned from Super Bowls.

“indefinitely suspended” from NFL stadiums
Always wondered how they enforce this

I get that it's "just a push" but the NFL has to set a precedent here. Glad to see they're backing up Lamar.

A precedent for what?
Just don’t walk along the opposing fans stadium line. And don’t push back if something like this happens. That’s a kid no older than 19 years old and you’re an elite athlete in full protective gear. This is such a nothing burger

Imagine the field day this board would have if a black fan did that to Josh Allen

The NFL is sorta acting like this happened:
In 1961 during a game between the Patriots and the Texans, a fan came onto the field for the final play of the game and batted down a potential game-winning pass. The refs didn’t see it, so the play stood...game over. No ban from stadiums.
.
Imagine if this happened to the Saints on here?

Fine with the fan getting punished, he did something stupid. Lamar probably shouldn't have pushed back, but a random fan put his hands on him, so ultimately I have zero problems with Lamar pushing the fan away before something could happen.
This was not the malice in the palace, and Lamar did not continue to attack once he pushed away the potential threat.

He got ejected. That’s enough

Fine Lamar, or don’t, I don’t really care. It’s not a big deal either way.

And if Lamar would have beat the piss out of him he would be suing Lamar, the Ravens, etc
You think he would be willing to sign something that says "you can go to any NFL game you want, but you will not be protected for your actions and you are agreeing to not sue the NFL or team or player associated with the NFL"?
Lamar is expected to let it go, but if someone from the crowd shoved me, I would want to see what's up.
If you throw a punch, you have to be ready to accept a punch.. Or shove.. Dude is a bitch.

“Indefinite bans” aren’t even a real thing. There isn’t some computer system running cameras at every entrance checking banned fans faces.
LOL, what year are you living in? Stadiums absolutely have facial recognition systems running. Some obviously are more sophisticated and extensive than others. The NFL actually has a centralized facial recognition database for banned fans, just like the gaming industry.

So what you're saying is, it is ok and acceptable for a fan to physically push a player, just because they feel like it?

He's a good man for admitting his mistake in shoving the fan and sitting out the Super Bowl.

The guy made a decision to do something stupid and this is the consequence of that decision.
How dare they have the audacity to celebrate a touchdown?

Lamar had every right to defend himself. Once a fan puts his hands on you, that's it. He just shoved him back, didn't try to hit him with a fist or anything.

I wish Lamar had dragged that imbecile out of the stands and all the players mud stomped him right in plain sight of every other fan. Maybe these drunk fricknuts will think twice before they act out physically.
