Who cares. I have more of a problem with his blatant butthurtedness over the heat getting Napier. No one is helping them. Besides, they got blown out in the finals pretty fricking badly...it'll be ok billy.

I thought it was great for obvious reasons.

But I don't get him getting heat over it either. It's not like he didn't write a book with a large basis of it based on his Celtics fandom. It's no different than when Rose was talking up guys from Michigan or something like that.

A lot of people here don't like him because of how vocal he has been about how much he didn't like Pels trade for Jrue Holiday.

I personally am a huge Simmons fan. He isn't as good on TV as he is on his podcast or in his writing, but I still enjoy it.

I don't get being so upset about him being a homer.

Charlotte clearly helped the Heat last night.

The Draft is just another thing TNT needs to get the rights for. ESPN is just awful with basketball. Simmons and Jalen didn't know what to say after pick 15 other than "OMG NAPIER AND CLEANTHONY ARE STILL AVAILABLE" pretty much every pick.

The TNT crew wouldn't know these guys any better, they would just be funnier.

I'd rather hear about the most recent food joint in Brooklyn that Shaq and Charles found than hear Bill and Jalen talk about the same two players for half of a round and how everyone is missing out by passing on them. Plus, they could drop Shaq and bring in one of their affiliates that works CBB and March Madness that may have a better perspective. Literally the only thing they would be missing is Fran breaking down the foreign talent.

I would rather sports guys be open about their biases than try to play it straight like Verne "And Eric Reid with the interception? Oh no!" Lundquist.

If you'd rather hear about "food joints" just admit you dont care at all about draft coverage and go see a movie or watch South Park.

It seems like youre problem is not that Simmons and Rose are bad at their job but have a style you don't like. Nothing wrong with that but that is 2 different things

Their "style" is they know nothing. That's why they talked about Shabazz and Cleanthony for an hour -- two players that every person who watched 30 seconds of the tournament knew about. Then they had a jizzfest when LeBron tweeted about Shabazz. Like others have said, you can get any bozo on Tiger Droppings on ESPN to talk about the things they talk about. It's not good coverage at all, and none of my party enjoyed anything they had to say other than Bill's comment about "teams trying to be bad; then there's Philly who is drafting to be bad for 2 more years". At least Fran broke down the foreign players as best he could.

He said we should have given brandon jennings a max contract instead.

Dude doesn't know fricking shite about today's game. He's a great historian, he's a godawful GM wannabe.

You want to hear about food joints so what do you care?

This "anyone could be more informative than the guys on TV/Radio" that exists on message boards always confuses me.

I agree with you about people knowing more than them. I can name 10 posters on TD that are more knowledgeable about draft prospects than Simmons.

The thing that none of those guys can do that Simmons can? Entertain the public.

And to be honest if after the entire college season, workouts, the lottery, you are still depending on Draft day coverage to get the info you need on these guys then who the frick are you to complain about the coverage on draft night?

There's people on ESPN that know more than them and can entertain people. They have a bunch of college people that could join Bilas in actually having knowledge of the players drafted. But we get Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose.

It's not that I'm depending on them for info on these guys. I want multiple perspectives on these players and how they fit in to different systems. Bilas talked about some of the college players. Cool. Fran talked about the foreign players and how much of projects they are. Cool. I got nothing from Jalen and Bill other than Shabazz makes Miami more appealing for LeBron and them going back and forth about Toronto's pick being "two years away from being two years away from contributing" according to Fran. Kenny Smith breaks down more stuff on a video board segment than Bill and Jalen did the entire night.

I don't mind his blogs at all. They're generally good reads, but he provides nothing on television.

Either way, I'm done. That's JMO. Agree to disagree.
