Same thing as Cam Newton not making CFB Hall of Fame on first ballot.
The voters are pathetic.

Are you aware lots of teams at the time did it just like the bountygate bs?
Or are you talking about Deflategate where Brady was responsible for that practice and the NFL deleted the evidence they collected from the following season air pressure checks?

The NFL is reaching Rock and Roll HOF level stupidity.

Spygate was pretty f'n egregious. If this is a one-year delay due to Spygate, then it is probably deserved.

You could take away every game prior to the spy gate scandal and he would still be a hall of famer

if this is the reason, then he should never get in.

Polian's such a weasel. Now he's saying that he can't remember for sure if he voted for Belichick or not.

If we’re going to knock coaches for having great players, there will be no HOF coaches.

They should put it in the rules if they are to hold a practice everyone was doing against a potential HOF nominee. If folks think other teams did not have similar scouting schemes then you are blind.
Defense ranked top 10 in scoring defense (points allowed) in 18 seasons since 2001, and every year from 2012 onward (through at least 2022 sources).
Multiple #1 rankings in points allowed (e.g., 2019: #1 in points and yards; 2003: led NFL in points allowed during Super Bowl run).
2000s dynasty teams top-10 in points/yards.
Even in "down" years they stayed competitive, rarely outside top-15 in points.
He had the number one scoring defense with the Browns as DC.
While having a Tom Brady led offense helps the defense, having a killer defense also helps a Tom Brady offense.
As to Brady, as the quasi GM he made the final call to draft Brady in the sixth round. Belichick kept circling back, reportedly wondering aloud why Brady was still available and deeming him too good to pass up as a "value" pick.
As to those that voted against. If they do not admit it I pray they are outed and exposed as gutless cowerds/
I have zero doubt Jeff "Relax, Saints Fans, Payton Isn't Going Anywhere" Duncan was a no vote/

Really lame - on the bright side maybe hell go in with Brady now.
This will also create some sympathy for CBB and make him more likeable.

If Polian can’t remember who he voted for then he needs to be removed from the voting committee. What a clown.
