HS football game a few years back...

Visiting team is tied with the home team, 4th down play late in the 3rd quarter. Visitors run the Wing-T, so a lot of motioning and eye candy. Wing goes in motion from the RT to set up on the LT, and before he stops moving the slot receiver takes off to run a jet sweep. They get the first down because everyone in the stadium expected a dead ball foul. Sideline judge did throw the flag. White hat comes over to him, they deliberate, and the flag was waved off. The reasoning? It wasn't that guy's call to make, it was the white hat's and he didn't see it. Come to find out that the visitor's HC and the white hat were fishing buddies.

State championship for football. Team is down by one and has the other team pinned inside the 5 with seconds left. Qb sees the clock hit zero and throws the ball in the air. Opposing team catches it in the end zone. Officials blow the play dead and says the offensive team wins the game even though they should have lost due to an interception. Ruling was a whistle was blown when the clock hit zero. Loosing team refused to shake hands or take the runner up trophy.

Even though the play was still live...Holy shite, that’s fricked up...

I can see why they didn’t accept the trophy...

The winning teams head coach should’ve chewed his QB a new one.. If it wasn’t for the boneheaded official, they should lost the championship.

Where was that? Georgia?

Biggest I have ever seen. Mid 80's Ponchatoula @ Bogalusa about 3 seconds left Bogalusa kicks a FG that is about 3 feet wide and they call it good for the win.

Holy cow I remember that. It was a big deal. You were a freshman and Ponchy played in the Shrimp Bowl that year, correct?

Most refs swallow their whistles with under 5 seconds left.

They called a foul on a 3 with 2.2. seconds left, and a lane violation... and a traveling after the inbound?

I can't recall a time I've ever seen a travel called with 2.2 seconds or less in a game. How much time elapsed?

If there was ref frickery no way they call the travel.

Sophomore year. Yeah it was a big deal. If I remember right I heard Wilkerson sent the game film to LSU and someone analyzed it and came up with that 3 feet measurement. It kept us out of the playoffs and yeah with did play in the Shrimp Bowl.

2021 West Monroe @ Zachary in the quarterfinals. Cost Ponchatoula the state championship since we would've beaten West Monroe or Destrehan.

DUDE please give it a rest, you gonna make our fans seem to be sore losers. Would we have beaten either of them, we have no idea because when you get that deep in the playoffs its matchups. Also what we didn't know then but we do know is why Braydon Johnson was so ineffective in the title is that his shoulder was wrecked.

Did this happen on any particular play during a game/in practice or just slowly over time? I don't recall him getting injured against Acadiana.

West Mesquite playing at Highland Park in a 2012 game that decided the 4A District 10 championship. West Mesquite is up 21-14 at the half in a really entertaining game.

At the start of the 2nd half, there's an obvious block in the back, on a nice KO return, by a HP kid. Refs huddle in front of the HP bench for a really long time. An HP assistant, not Coach Randy Allen, comes out and talks with them. They wave off the flag. My buddy says to me, "Somebody must have gotten a weekend at the hunting camp."

West Mesquite goes scoreless in the second half, and loses 41-21. HP got every call in the second half.

West Mesquite had a loaded team that year under former Tennessee LB (mid-70's) Mike Overton. A&M safety Kameron Miles, UCLA WR Eldridge Massington, ASU CB Will Earley, Boise St. safety Dylan Sumner-Gardner Tennessee DL Dimarya Mixon, and some guys that signed with New Mexico State, were all on that team.

ETA: As a player at what was then Farmerville High (Now Union Parish High), we played a school called Delta High School in the middle of nowhere, near Mer Rouge, LA. We got called for holding and chop blocks on every drive. They called "Spearing" personal fouls (the precursor to "Targeting" when we made tackles with our face masks on their numbers. That was the way they taught tackling in the early 70's. Spearing was supposed to be called when you lowered your head, launched yourself, and hit a guy with the crown of your helmet.

I had two of those spearing personal foul 15 yard penalties called on me. In the 2nd half, we saw the refs weren't going to let us win the game. We decided we would try to knock some of their defenders out of the game. Instead of blocking, we held one guy up and everyone hit him. I got another 15 yard personal foul on one of those.

The worst part of that game was practice the next Monday. Any game that the team had over 100 yards in penalties meant everyone who had a penalty had to roll the length of the field for every five yards they were penalized. I puked in the middle of mine, and rolled lots of extra yards by getting disoriented and rolling across the field. I was the last one out there and was glad because our coach would tell me when I was getting crooked rolling. He was ready to get out of there too.

Worst one I've ever seen:

HS softball playoff game. Bases loaded. Foul ball hit on the ground wide of the third base bag. Third baseman retrieves the foul ball, throws it over the head of the pitcher. All three runners take off and score. Umps rule the runs count.

Salmen vs Shaw 4a state semi final in 2012? Salmen down by 5 on Shaw 1 yard line with about 6 seconds left, qb sneak to go to the dome! Not, refs throw a flag for the rb pushing the qb into the end zone. Never seen that called at any point in any game ever.

Next play, swing pass Salmen player headed for end zone, gets his helmet taken off by a face mask and no flag, Salmen lost.

Was really heart breaking on both calls. Times picayune had the face mask front and center in the paper. Was as bad as the saints vs rams deliberate foul.

Every single time any of my north Louisiana high school baseball teams went down south to play the piece of shite coonass umps squeezed the frick out of us and widened up the strikezone for the south LA teams to about six inches off the plate on either side. And shite it wasn't just high school. Every time we played down there while I was growing up it was the same way as well.

frick south LA umps, refs, etc. they openly cheat. Good thing my ball teams enjoyed spanking that arse on a regular basis.

HS football junior year.

returned a punt for a TD in 1st quarter. called back for illegal block.
returned punt for a TD in 3rd quarter. called back for illegal block.
had a fumble recover for a scoop and score in 4th quarter. Called back because someone was lined up in neutral zone.

those are the only 3 times in my entire life i ever crossed a goal line with a football in my hands.
All 3 in same game.
All 3 called back.

calls may have been legit. but god dammit! couldn't give me ONE of the 3?

Don't really know never where it happened. I don't think many even knew he was hurt. I only found out when I heard a interview with Hank sometime after the game. He said they never said anything because Braydon didn't want anyone know he was hurt. I don't think that it would have mattered anyway. Our Oline getting dominated it what the difference was.
