Everyone involved is fighting for what they believe in and I full expect Texas Tech to continue to fight. It is all loud right now and will likely get louder.

The league is threatening withholding revenue, television appearances and banning you from post season. The complaint is 47 pages in length. We are about to become a lot more familiar with the legal system and what courts and rulings take precedent over others.

i feel like they are doing what any fanbase would do but yea they are throwing out some wild stuff

either way cant believe the tech admin has handled this as poorly as possible. what happens when you let a single booster control everything they do

Hopefully Texas Tech gets completely fricked

Would be hilarious if this bullshite ultimately keeps them out of a breakaway super league.

They mortgaged their future and reputation on a guy who threw for 2800 yards and went 7-5 last year at Cincinnati.

have a hard time believng it wont. they are a total pariah now and i have a hard time envisioning them having any friends going forward and unless you are one of the 15 or so programs guranteed to survive the next culling, you REALLY need friends

Cannot believe the circus around this dude. You'd think he was Joe Burrow or Cam Newton.

Said this exact thing on another board.

TTU has gone to the mattresses for this guy in a way that you only do for a generational guy like Cam or Burrow.

Just hilariously shortsighted and performative.

Who knows how good or bad a player is when he's betting hundreds of times on games he's played in.

I said in a previous discussion that Campbell is this generations Sherwood Blunt. A wealthy booster of a second tier Texas program that is willing to spend whatever is necessary and do whatever is necessary to get his school at the level of the powerhouses. Just like Blunt, he and his school are not doing anything that the other programs aren't. But he and Tech are doing it at such an egregious level that it exceeds what the other schools, conferences, fans, etc are willing to tolerate. The "egregious" level here is using influence to get a friendly judge to essentially abrogate a rule that has generally universal across all sports in all leagues. If you get caught betting on games in which your team is involved you are banned.

If this was a Shambliss situation or something similar then I'd agree.

But the dude bet (a shite ton honestly), and did so while being a member of the team participating in those contests.

Regardless of fandom I can say my stance wouldnt change. Dude shouldnt be involved in CFB moving forward. He straight up broke a big time rule.

Well, to be fair, neither Cam nor Burrow were "generational guys" until their one generational season. So the same things would have been said about them prior to 2010 and 2019

2010 Auburn fans: "We're going to the mat for a guy that played minimally and Florida, got kicked off the team, and whose only great accomplishment was in JUCO?"

2019 LSU fans: "We're going to the mat for a guy who wasn't even a top 5 in the SEC last season?"

Agree, but fortunately I don’t think his opponent pays enough attention to foosball to make it a campaign issue.

Its more a matter of TT has no other choice

Their QB went down with a season ending injury, their roster is extremely pricey and pretty stacked, and they paid this dude 5 mill and have no other viable options

Yep...they bought this high-end sports car to win big now (its why they overpaid for Sorsby and are all-in on him) and now find that the NCAA, Conference and (Country?) are saying you can't have a good driver.

Strip away the headlines, and the real question is: Will Texas Tech have a starting quarterback for 2026?

Depth chart is a transfer from Tulsa and a green redshirt freshman.

Right now, the narrative is about managing risk, navigating uncertainty, and keeping the season from unraveling before it starts.

Texas Tech right now is the poster child for the perils of how the sport has abandoned program building for the Meals Ready to Eat blueprint, transfer stacked roster, year to year, last minute plug in play,, NIL, win now, fast and ready model....a team can turn into a ghost in the shell overnight.

Hammond played in multiple games last year and looked like the better qb when they beat the shite out of Utah. Their schedule is dogshit so they can sleepwalk until the playoffs.

I think you're over exaggerating. They were the favorite when it was thought Sorsby wasnt going to be eligible. They have a ridiculously easy schedule avoiding almost all of the top teams in the Big 12. Hammond was good last year and they arent remotely tested until the 3rd game at best.
