A Big 12 source in wake of B10/P12 news: “There’s an increasing sentiment that we’ll play,” the official said.

This is interesting. Despite Oklahoma’s success in consistently winning the right to get eliminated in the CFBP semifinal, there has been a widening gap between the Big 12 and the Big 10 for 2nd place in the CFB universe. They may be trying to hedge their bets in hopes of narrowing that gap with regards to national recruiting and tv deals. Imagine all the press these schools will be getting if only 30-40 FCS teams are playing. Even the bottom of their barrel schools will get highlighted simply by playing.

I intensely hate all of this on one hand, but on the other must admit that the soap opraness is becoming intriguing.

that works for the ACC, too

but seriously i think it's mostly about money. The Big10 must really think they're going to be bailed out

the Pac12 is just a mess and who the frick knows where they go b/c they're already broke

They argue it's because of the "unknown long term health consequences" of covid while completely ignoring the obvious long term financial consequences of their conference.

Right now, in all aspects of society, "save one life" trumps all financial issues.

These decisions, while frustrating, are simply a reflection of our current society at the moment.

Big 12 presidents will allow conference to move forward toward a season and a revised Big 12 schedule will be released after approval from AD's during tonight's meetings.

There’s hope

I know a lot of classes are going to be online this fall for college students. Am I correct to assume most football players at major programs will be taking all online classes this semester?

I’m like 100% sure the B12 is playing simply because they couldn’t afford it

No under no, but for an athletic budget I’m sure it would hurt an Iowa state or Kansas and k state
