We gonna lose 3 conferences today

quote:

The Big 12 Board of Directors will convene its next meeting Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. to discuss fall football. The Big Ten and a short time later, the Pac-12 announced earlier in the day, teams won’t play football this fall because of concerns about COVID-19. The Big Ten was the first of college sports’ power conferences to yield to the pandemic. The move announced Tuesday comes six day after the conference that includes historic programs such as Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska and Penn State had released a revised conference-only schedule that it hoped would help it navigate a fall season with potential COVID-19 disruptions.

This is a case of the Big Ten getting the nod from other conferences between yesterday and today, isn't it?

Hopefully they are meeting to discuss ways to add Nebraska, Iowa, and Ohio State to their league.

I'd like to see what these board of directors actually look like.

I don't think its going to be that easy, some of those schools make a frick load more money than the others when it comes to football

I think they got the Big 12. Not the SEC and ACC. But they feel confident the sec and ACC won’t go it alone

Probably going to be an easy decision for the Big 12. Doesnt Texas get all the money anyways?

Let’s see if the old truism goes and Texas decides for the whole conference.

I just don't understand why these conferences are cutting off their nose to spite their face.

They argue it's because of the "unknown long term health consequences" of covid while completely ignoring the obvious long term financial consequences of their conference.

Didn't the Ohio State representative vote against playing football?

I read that Texas and Oklahoma we’re leading the charge to play, others wanted to delay and match start date with SEC

All that chatter on here about the SEC swinging their dick around and making the other conferences change their mind really didnt happen at all. Apparently the opposite.

Wishful thinking, but the B1G saying they were postponing to the spring instead of outright cancelling would probably prevent any thought of a B1G school being able to try and play this fall as an independent or with another conference.
