Not talking value. Just which set is the most visually appealing.

No top 3 bullshite either. There is only 1 best.

My choice:

2003 Upper Deck Baseball

The woodgrain was fricking money.

1954 Bowman, Mickey Mantle. At least that mofo looks the sweetest to me every time I walk down memory lane in my collection.

Damn that was my second choice.

ETA: Looking on google at all the different sets from the 80's and 90's is bringing back some memories.

1953 Bowman color. Hands down the best set ever produced. Second would be 1953 Bowman Black and White. Third would be 1957 Topps.

This was the first set I actually tried to complete by buying packs and and singles.

Most of the sets in the '80s I got through getting shoeboxes of cards from garage sales.

Meh.

Every UD set from 2000 on has looked basically the same. It's a good look, just not different. It's like the Goo Goo Dolls of baseball card designs. One song, just play it over and over.

My favorites:

1995 Upper Deck (all four sports)...

Photography and color use by UD was mind boggling for this year. Hell, even the Nascar cards looked good.

1962 Topps

1970 Topps

1957 Topps

And for some reason, 1971-72 Topps Basketball

1962 Topps is probably my favorite.

As soon as I finish 1970, I'm moving on to 1962.

1962 Topps, but point taken.

1960 Topps football is nice, too.

Topps put out some craaaaaap for football in the late 60's and 70's.

You're right, I got '63 stuck in my head a few years ago and I haven't been able to shake it.

I have this set, uncut, framed. Pretty tight.
