I can't believe nobody has mentioned the 82-83 Houston Cougars. 31-3. I know they lost the title game to NC State but that team was absolutely LOADED.

Both teams had the entire starting lineup drafted in the first round I believe (or at least drafted). UNC: Raymond Felton Rashad McCants Sean May Jawad Williams Marvin Williams

Marvin Williams came off the bench.

The 09 team was better. Never any doubt from the start of that season who was winning the title that year. 4 NBA guys starting, the 5th starter has had long international career, Ed Davis and Tyler Zeller off the bench.

Both those UNC teams had legit stars stay 3 and 4 years, then stud freshman coming off the bench.

2011-2012 Kentucky with Anthony Davis (as much as I dislike the guy) was a really freaking good basketball team.

2009 UNC.

Ty Lawson
Wayne Ellington
Danny Green
Deon Thompson
Tyler Hansbrough

Smoked every team they played in the tournament. LSU in the 2nd round was probably the closest game they played and it ended up being something like a 15 point game.

The final against MSU was over after 5 minutes.

57' UNC. Beat Chamberlin at Kansas, undefeated.

Led by Frank Mcguire, before they turned their back on him. They love Dean Smith but won't recognize that Mcguire made him. Makes me like that team more as UNC doesn't hold them with high regard

In my lifetime:

1991-92 Duke
2006-07 Florida
2011-12 Kentucky
2017-18 Villanova

Underrated great team: 1992-93 UNC, no one jumps off the page at you but they played their team game to perfection both ends of the floor

What if teams:
2007-08 UCLA
2012-13 Indiana
1992-93 Kentucky
1993-94 North Carolina (upset by BC)

75-76 Indiana under Bobby Knight. The last undefeated team in men’s Division I college basketball

74-75 Indiana was more dominant but losing Larry Bird who dropped out and Scott May breaking his arm screwed them in the postseason

Wasn’t alive to see it, will also mention 83-85 Georgetown and 85-86 Duke, that Duke team went 37-2 before the Louisville title game against a loaded ACC that season.

I saw the 90-91 Duke team drill LSU in Cameron. The 91-92 Duke was better and they went back to back. I also saw the 72-73 UCLA team play in the New Orlean’s Municipal Auditorium in the old Sugar Bowl Tournament. Undefeated, National Champs. Bill Walton went 21/22 in Championship game route of Memphis State. Great team.

In terms of hot at EXACTLY the right time: 2011 UConn.

They had to win 5 games in 5 days (Big East Tournament) to even make the dance, then, as a 3 seed, won the whole thing.

Under THIS selection committee, they would have been given the Texas A&M treatment if they lost in the tournament final.

Lol what the hell are you talking about? Even if UCONN lost in the 1st round of the Big East Tournament they would have been no less than a 5 seed.

The Big East had like 12 teams in the tournament that year
