Looks like it was removed from landmark status in 2006 after undergoing renovations

lol...you don't think they would turn around and demolish soldier field and convert that to parking?

Bears don’t own soldier field …which is the main reason they want to move.

It’s owned by Chicago park district and there’s no chance they will let the bears turn that prime real estate into a parking lot. Keep dreaming

It's the smallest stadium in the NFL.

Aside from just capacity, it's still the bones of an old stadium with narrow concourses on a small plot of land with little room for expansion, even after the renovations.

Most importantly, the Bears don't own it, and have been wanting to get the hell out of there for 50 years.

just hike up the prices to make up for capacity. all those leftists in chicago deserve it.

also the Bills are currently building a new stadium that has a similar capacity...soldier field is large enough.

Tore it down for nothing. Everything CDI touches turns to shite. BTW, if you're planning on going to the Derby, they don't accept cash anymore when it comes to drinks, food, and souvenirs. Only betting windows will accept cash. I found out the hard way in the Gold Room on Saturday.

Got that half right. You’re only thinking about football. You don’t build these stadiums for 10 football games a year. You build them to host events throughout the year.

Check the population of metro Buffalo and compare it to the population of metro Chicago.

Their stated goal is to host Final Fours amongst other events. Domed stadium is a must to do that.

I thought Soldier Field was on the National Register of Historic Places. If so it won't be torn down. I could be mistaken though.

Soldier Field lost that when it was renovated 20 years ago.

Wrong. Toronto is more of a Detroit market than Buffalo.

Not sure about that… the Bills even with a smaller market have a more passionate fan base than the bears.

9.6 million to 6.2 million. The Bears fanbase includes all of Illinois, northwest Indiana and a good chunk of Iowa too.

But besides the point, draw circle out 40 miles from each stadium and tell me how many people live within each circle and explain why you think they should have the same size stadium, not just for NFL games but events in general.

The 3 issues really are the lake is cold as frick so a dome is needed for more year round activities, there’s very little parking, and public transportation really doesn’t get that close. Plus the majority of the fan base is on the north and west side of the city and soldier field is on the southeast side.

It's going to make the Museum Campus area horrible for a couple years.
