I bet Atlanta signs Lamar Jackson and goes to the playoffs. Just because they are a rival of the Saints.

I would trade out of the pick if I was the Bears. You already have a good looking young QB, so try to get multiple firsts and build a roster.

Unbelievable that Houston let this top pick slip away. Lovie Smith should never work in the NFL again. Not that I think he will.

When was the last strong draft class of QBs?

2020

Round 1: Joe Burrow (No. 1), Tua Tagovailoa (No. 5), Justin Herbert (No. 6), Jordan Love (No. 26)
Round 2: Jalen Hurts (No. 53)

I applaud Lovie Smith for doing what he did. He was the most obvious placeholder ever and everyone knew he would be fired after 1 year so I like that he stuck it to the incompetent Houston leadership

Sure, stick it to an organization that lets you back into the league as a head coach. That will show them.

They couldn't get a couple of 1sts for Fields?

If so, draft Young and trade Fields. Restart your clock with a QB on his rookie deal. Sign a mid tier vet to mentor Young for a year.

Indy seems to make the most sense at 4, but no telling what’ll happen with it.

I think that would be a wise move. They have a lot of needs.

In other words, Bears realize this is a weak draft. Especially for QBs.

For QBs and LBs sure but not really otherwise.

They have Fields so they feel like they don't need a QB. They realize its better to get multiple picks plus still possibly have a chance at Carter or Will Anderson depending on who they trade with vs picking one or the other at 1 and then not having the extra picks. That isn't an indictment of the strength of this draft at all.

Smart to let someone else leverage their entire draft and near future for AR-15 or Levis instead

In general, QB play in NFL is just not as good as it once was, even with all the rules favoring offense.

My point was they need to see what they have w/him over a full season before making any move for a QB.

You can't make a determination either way w/just 4 games. Which is how many he started at the end of the season.

bears begging more than one team wants the spot b/c the QB draft this year is a level below franchise.

If they get anything decent and stay in the top 4 thats a big win.

Or the bears feel like they are find with Fields at QB and think they can get 2 more first rounders to build a team around him at OL and WR

I got a WR that they can have for one of those 1st round picks....
