Sources: The Bears already have been approached by multiple teams about trading the draft’s No. 1 overall pick, and Chicago is said to be “leaning toward” moving the pick. So the No. 1 pick now looks like it’s for sale.

The Bears are in a unique spot because there is a credible case right now for several teams in the Top 10 to consider a jump (large or small) up the board for a QB:
2. Texans
4. Colts
7. Raiders
8. Falcons
9. Panthers

In other words, Bears realize this is a weak draft. Especially for QBs.

I don’t think the Falcons would trade up to take a qb. But you never know.

I’d try to see if the Raiders, Falcons, or Panthers are willing to trade (3) 1st round picks.

If they can get a bidding war going you might be able to get Pitts or Horn as well.

Massive cap space and the #1 overall pick, I am trading back to the highest bidder and helping ESPN blow smoke up everyone's arse about either Stroud or Young. Bears should get multiple first round picks from some awful teams that will keep paying dividends for 2-3 years.

Yeah they're not doing that.

They're riding w/Ridder, and they should.

I wouldn’t say this is a weak draft for QBs. There is no “Andrew Luck” of this class but there are 4 guys who will go top 10. The value for the Bears is in the fact last years QB class sucked and there are at least 4 QB desperate teams.

So are you saying the neither Stroud or Young are better than the current QBs on those team's rosters?

2. Texans - Davis Mills
4. Colts - ??? (Ryan is out)
7. Raiders - ??? (Carr is gone)
8. Falcons - Ridder
9. Panthers - ???

Or the bears feel like they are find with Fields at QB and think they can get 2 more first rounders to build a team around him at OL and WR

It is weak draft for QBs meaning there is not many so they will go early. Bears don’t need a QB so their #1 is valuable.

Trading thst pick is by far the best move for the bears. Their overall roster is. Beyond crappy. They need bodies and plenty of the. You are gonna be two years for fields to get better. Build that team around him.

Hit or miss most years. That's not the point though. The Bears don't need a QB and other teams do. Hence the reason they would trade the pick so they can maximize the value of the pick to put themselves in a better position overall than owning the #1 pick.
