Dave said Penn’s reasoning was they thought states would pull gaming licenses if they didn’t fire him.

He’s not wrong either, some have made it difficult for them to get licenses just because of the barstool affiliation. We’ve just completely lost the concept of context. What he did was stupid but definitely shouldn’t lose his job over it but that no longer matters when the internet mob wants him it’s pound of flesh

Which is dumb because where do they think that audience came from?

Shouldn’t have gotten fired for that.

I figured they would have already figured him for being terrible

It seems like 95% of barstool content now days is just a bunch of bros sitting in a messy room, wearing shorts and hoodies watching a tv you can’t see, until one of them yells something about “his picks.”

I wasn’t that familiar with him from his 104.5 days, and I was excited to see him when he first got to barstool. But I was immediately disinterested in his schtick. He’s just not entertaining or funny.

Maybe 10 or so people @ barstool drive 90% of their audience/sales. No one @ PENN or Dan or Dave or Ericka are losing sleep over this, they just have to act the part to keep the rank and file employees from bailing.

I wonder how much they were paying Mintzy?

The real losers are T-Bob & Company (other local radio personalities that were affiliated with Game Coin) that adored Ben thinking it would connect them to be cool with Dave & Dan somehow.

I guess they’ll double down with RB&R Devin Snow now - hoping he gets picked up by Barstool and they can grab his coat tails.

The real loser in all of this is the child brain cancer patients. No way Mintzy is giving up any of the dollars he may have collected now. — Those Widespread tickets don’t pay for themselves!

My guess on his three year renewal was $90k + a bonus structure for everyone that used his specific new account promo code when he was at activation type events.

He was the perfect personality for them to drag out to their 4 Louisiana Casinos and their Barstool Sportsbooks when no one else wanted to go.

I liken it to getting the lead singer of Lit/Wheatus/CrazyTown to show up for pennies to an anniversary event at a Hard Rock Cafe in Tulsa or Topeka.

The only way to get past this whole "n word" thing, is for everyone to say it as much as they can until it loses all meaning.

Similar to what happened with the word "racist".
