Good on the US media for showing the inconsistency.

Messi received no penalty (let alone red card) for a play that was worse (intentional).

Balogan didn’t even see the defender’s foot…

Wouldn’t it be much better to have him suspended vs Belgium than theoretically Spain?

How does this now work for subsequent cards? Like if he gets a yellow tomorrow does that put us back in the same spot?

Belgium will be a tough out. We shouldn't be thinking about the next round. We need him now

The point is you have to beat both to win and Spain is the more difficult opponent

I mean it's good news but what a bad way to do it.

Either overturn it or not, by not publically overturning the call with a reason, it can be viewed as home cooking.

Fifa, always shooting itself in the foot.

They wouldn’t just add a suspension back at that time.

Cristiano Ronaldo had a suspension delayed prior to the 2026 World Cup. After receiving a red card for violent conduct in a qualifier against the Republic of Ireland, he was handed a three-match ban. FIFA suspended the final two matches of the ban for a one-year probationary period.

He's not being suspended this World Cup probably a later FIFA game. Ronaldo was also supposed to be suspended during their World Cup opener but has played every game

Wow. Portnoy insinuating in his last tweet that Trump is the one that made this get overturned. Pretty crazy if true
