ESPN has a hilariously better production than CBS

for the Kirk/Fowler game maybe but CBS production for the 230 game is top of the line

It will be interesting if they continue to bring the same production value and cameras now that they are paying a premium on the product

The CBSsports games and the first game in the SEC double headers suck

The B1G/SEC CFP era is underway!!

While I suspect this is true it's very debatable whether or not this is a good thing. Some think it is, some don't but I'm afraid it's looking pretty inevitable

I see them going for Virginia, UNC, Duke, and GT. All AAU schools, all in the south. We (the SEC) can't let that happen

You can upgrade the production all you want, but a bunch of midwestern white kids don't make for exciting football. And for the most part, outside of Ohio and Michigan, that's all the B1G has

B1G fans sound a lot like Texas/Texas A&M fans these days. "Look at all this money! You can't compete with us when we have all this money!" Meanwhile they continue to get embarrassed on the field.

Holy selective data Batman!

You left out:

1994 PSU (undefeated and an incredible team)
1994 Nebraska
1995 Nebraska (in the conversation as an all time great team)
1997 Nebraska
2003 USC (#1 in final AP poll, better team than LSU and OU who played in the BCS game)
2004 USC

In fairness, you also left out OU in 2000 and Texas in 2005 on the SEC side. In the new NIL era, the teams with the biggest upside are USC and Texas. Both these teams have overall been underachievers over the last 30 years though.

The next level (in no particular order, but based on history, fanbase, and geography meaning eyeballs on TV’s week after week)aTm, OSU, PSU, MICH, LSU, Bama, Florida, Georgia, OU. All of these teams have the infrastructure to be dominant and pull of runs like USC, Bama, and Nebraska have done since 1992.

3rd level, teams who can be very good, and break through at times but are a step back are Mich St, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, Tennessee, Auburn, aTm.

Are you not familiar with NIL? He who has the most money will get the most talented players.

How is a broadcast deal paid to conferences and schools making its way into NIL hands? Isn’t it against all rules for schools to outright pay players?

CBS going from SEC #1 to Big 10 #2 is something. Getting USC and, eventually, ND is huge for the network. Otherwise, they are getting Illinois at Michigan State weekends.

Yep, all those Big10 sports events that I was watching on the previous channel will now just be on this other channel instead.

They likely wont notice the 4 sc fans watching those games

I think the most significant parts of the deal are the three Over the Air games at noon, 2:30pm and 7 pm. People can watch the three biggest games of the conference for free and with cord cutting this could be bigger down the road.

The SEC will be fine, but I don't know if having more games on ESPN and ESPN+ and SECN is the best move now. I mean could all the big SEC games in one weekend be all on ESPN or SECN? Of if ABC is only going to broadcast one SEC game per week is that good? I would love it if the SEC had three OTA games for free each Saturday.

Not a part of the B1G at the time and not currently part of the B1G.

Notice I didn't add OU in 2000 or Texas in 05. Why? They weren't a part of the SEC

For some reason, LSU fans love making alters of Ohio StTe fans and making crazy troll posts.

It's really weird.

There is absolutely no other way to slice it but the SEC has been completely pants’d this time around in TV negotiations. Sankey has dropped the ball big time

The SEC gets about 800 million per year to share between 14 teams. This isn't a huge gap.

The deal grows to 10 billion with expansion. So yea, that gap is going to keep growing and growing!!

It appears he doesn't understand that this is not $10B per year.

Remember that scene from Avengers Infinity War where the Avengers were fighting their hearts out, but ultimately fighting a losing battle against Thanos, just throwing their best shots at him, and he puts his finger on the side of his head and there’s like a little smudge of blood on his finger. The Big Ten is the Avengers and the SEC is Thanos

That's an interesting analogy. I'm trying to remember who ended up winning that war when it was all said and done...
