You get a break before your rival/CFP but you also get less prep to work things out before conference play starts. I don’t understand why people are consistently retarded about acknowledging the latter
At least the SEC has fixed the late season cupcake week

So a normal Week 3 non conference schedule?

Good. Conference Championship Games are dumb and nothing more than TV money grab.
I’d rather have a 10 game conference schedule with more balanced conference scheduling and crowning a regular season champion than a Conference Championship with the unbalanced scheduling we currently have.

Has it dawned on you that this means there will be weeks mid to late season those SEC teams are playing cupcakes while almost nobody in the big ten is?
Yes. I'm aware that every SEC team is going to play 2 cupcakes at some point in the season. But there's going to be other compelling matchups that week, so when Bama, Auburn, and Ole Miss are playing cupcake games in November, they still have LSU vs Tennessee, Oklahoma vs A&M, and UGA vs USCe the same week.
My criticism of the B1G scheduling is that they lumped an entire week full of cupcake games so that the B1G TV lineup this week is going to be absolutely atrocious.

Outside of Week 1, which was on par with the B1G, the SEC does not have a Conference slate as horrendous as the B1G’s week 3.
The SEC has kind of fixed that late season cupcake week and has spread out a lot of the cupcake games throughout the season, and it’s only the Alabama / Mississippi schools having the late season cupcake games in the week before Iron Bowl and Egg Bowl.
It’s odd to see the B1G just sacrifice an entire weekend of TV ratings with this garbage slate in week 3.
