This power move by the SEC cannot go unmatched. If it does or the B1G does some weak stuff like Iowa State....there will be an uproar among fans.

I think the B1G has to go West.

Grab USC, Oregon, Washington, UCLA, Colorado,Stanford.

Make the 4 pods of 5 teams geographic. 20 total.

It will definitely start the dominoes, but that’s not the way I think they’ll fall.

Yes because it makes sense for Volleyball, tennis, and soccer to fly from Columbus Ohio to Los Angeles California to play games lol

IDK, doesn't the PAC have the worst contract of all the power conferences?

Why? If the BIG adds Kansas and Iowa State would allow the BIG to go to 16 teams and switch to scheduling pods instead of divisions. That would give the BIG the scheduling flexibility to keep BIG east programs from beating each other up so much that teams they are not in contention for a CFB playoff spot at the end of the season, and it would increase the strength of schedule for BIG west teams to still be in the playoff conversation even if they do not go undefeated. Being able to balance out the conference by doing away with divisions should allow the get three teams into the CFB playoffs most years. That extra $$$ in addition to its conference network and existing media rights deals (which would probably be renegotiated) would keep it competitive with the other major conferences. The BIG conference is going to be one of the big boys no matter what happens they should focus on revitalizing their existing product because the core of the BIG is strong it's just unbalanced.

The only move the B1G could make to keep pace would be to bring in Notre Dame

I started a thread about this and got a bunch of GOR responses. The B1G should raid the ACC. Notre Dame, UNC, Duke, UVA, Clemson and Florida St. four 5 team divisions.

B1G North:

Notre Dame
Michigan St
Indiana
Purdue
Illinois

B1G South:

Clemson
UNC
Duke
UVA
Florida St

B1G East:

Ohio St
Penn St
Michigan
Maryland
Rutgers

B1G West:

Wisconsin
Nebraska
Iowa
Minnesota
Northwestern

Kevin Warren should be moving hell and earth to make this happen.

How is Iowa State worse than Nebraska or Rutgers from a competitive standpoint?

Nobody is going to the B10 worth a frick

The feckless leadership of the B10 considering last years disaster wouldn't attract any good schools.

Notre Dame even chose ACC last year to play football and I think they will do it again long term but with 12 team playoff on the horizon not sure ND will move as they have almost a guaranteed spot each season barring 2 losses.

Good overall basketball program plus a promising football program

This. I just don’t know if Notre Dame would ever want it or what kind of agreements they have in place with the ACC. Notre Dame must make fricking bank on their NBC deal to not want that Big 10 money.

Idk about TV contracts, but they've been terrible with money management under Larry Scott. Maybe the new MGM guy can change that. But if I was the Big 12 I would push to get some pac 12, AAC, boise/byu rather than let the conference fall apart
