I have no issue with Santa Clara as a city, I do think Levi's is an abortion overall.

That said, it'll be different and apparently is a fine enough place to see a game of this type (bowl/championship type setting).

My understanding is that climate was supposed to have zero implication for selection. Its all about the bidding process. But surprise surprise, the South and West gets all the games again, making Northerners have to travel all over god's green earth. Just once I would like to see the Southern teams have to travel north....just once! Its really quite ridiculous!

Indy has the entire routine down for this stuff with the Final Four. And Minneapolis is a great town. It's bullshite.

I'm surprised Williams-Brice Stadium didn't get one of these Championship Games. I mean Columbia, SC is a really underrated spot. Good airport. Easy access to the stadium. 85,000 seat stadium.

Williams-Brice Stadium is really a no-brainer.

Who the hell goes North when it's cold in the winter?
There's a reason we live down here.

I went for the Final Four and National Championship this spring and I was pleasantly surprised how convenient Indianapolis is for any type of championship sporting event.

There are an abundance of hotels in downtown Indianapolis, the Canal that runs through the city has a nice boardwalk to complement it, and all of the bars/restaurants are in easy walking distance to Lucas Oil Stadium. Additionally, there is ample amount of room for different types of fan zones and stages for networks (i.e. ESPN).

On top of the conveniences for fans, bars are open reasonably late (3:00am) and open containers are legal.

Now, of course, it'll still be cold.

If the only excuse is "its cold" then you should all have your man cards revoked. Again, there is no reason why Minneapolis or Indianapolis wasn't selected. They have both been selected for Final 4 in basketball. Go to Minnesota in March...its still cold! Again, this should be a more balanced approach than just the South and West. Total crap!

Absolutely no reason the Indianapolis shouldn't have been awarded a bid. Would like to see some teams travel to that part of the country for once.

Maybe these cities should put on a bowl game for a few years to show that they are a viable option.

That's the point. With a Dome the weather isn't an excuse. Just sucks that teams from that part of the country have to travel for every major football bowl/playoff game.

Would be nice if other teams had to travel North for once.

This. There's a reason there aren't many bowl games in the north. No one wants to go there in January.

You can't compare the football title game to the Final Four. Basketball is an indoor sport, so no matter how bad the weather, you can find multiple places to allow the athletes to practice/work out indoors. How many other domes/indoor practice facilities for football are there around the Indianapolis, Minneapolis and Detroit areas? Minneapolis would maybe have one due to U of M in the general vicinity, but the others...

In Atlanta, in Miami, in SoCal or Arizona you can have the two teams work out at outdoor facilities and not be concerned about the weather - at least not as cold and not as high a chance of snow and ice.

I have always respected LSU for being willing to travel to play teams (unlike Florida). I don't think anyone will ever accuse Les Miles of not having balls of steel.

As it is now most Big Ten bowl games are in the other conferences back yard. Would have been nice to be able to play a major bowl game in Big Ten country for once.

Taxslayer bowl vs SEC in Jacksonville
Rose Bowl vs Pac 12 in Pasadena
Citrus Bowl vs SEC in Orlando
Outback Bowl vs SEC in Tampa
Holida Bowl vs Pac 12 in A Whale's Vagina
Armed Foces Bowl vs MWC in Ft. Worth
Foster Farms Bowl vs Pac 12 in Santa Clara

Only Bowl game in Big Ten country is the Quicklane Bowl which will be between the Big Ten and the ACC/Notre Dame

Any title game in California should be at the Rose Bowl

I don't see how the Rose Bowl could compare to this scenic icon next to a drainage ditch...
