I still can't believe what these networks pay for this talent.
Nobody watches these games because of who is in the booth. Fifteen mil + for Buck's new contract.
You could find someone to do it for 1/10th of that.
you dont overpay for the broadcast to be good
you overpay for the guarantee that the broadcast will not be bad
because a bad broadcast becomes a viral story and delegitimizes the product you paid a premium for the rights to broadcast
plus a bad production brings the League to your door wanting answers

They're not going to be replacing Aikman with a 28 yr old talking in his second language. They'll probably just hire Greg Olsen and it'll be fine.

I’m still trying to figure out who’s side I’m on.
But then again, IDGAF

for me the voice of some of the announcers is off putting. I dont care for olsen or jj watt. I don't need football knowledge, i just want to listen to a voice that is not annoying.

I have no faith ESPN hires Olsen.
The hiring of Buck and Aikman was less about increasing viewership and more about the network signaling its commitment to the NFL after a decade of CTE reporting and the increasingly shittier MNF game scheduling as a consequence.

Was about to post the same.
I don't watch for them, but I'll sure as shite stop watching because of them.

Yep, watch a game with a bad female play by play announcer and see how fast you either mute it or turn it off altogether.

I'd imagine Olsen wants to be back on a #1 team. Even if it's not him I doubt they would push Aikman out without an ace in the hole.

Yeah and they're even more committed now since the NFL owns a portion of ESPN.
