At least ESPN's computers aren't in charge of the college football playoff.

There seems to be a slight, just slight bias for the B1G

I’d like to see the numbers on how LSU is that far above Ole Miss.

Interesting but No. 2 only lost to 1, 3 only lost to 1 and 2. It registers.

And 4 lost twice to 13. It makes no fricking sense.

Everyone was too salty to address this when the matchups came out but yes, there is a very significant issue where the B10 outside of OSU played no one out of conference.

I mean no one. The best major matchup was OSU-ND and it’s very likely ND isn’t very good either.

So what ended up happening is the top 3 B10 teams were lights out against the rest of the league who happened to be horrific offensively and the computers fell in love with them for it.

I mean ask yourself who the top QB in the B10 was this year?

Is it JJ McCarthy? He was 8th in efficiency and 9.2YPA. But he threw for fewer yards than Jalen Milroe and doesn’t run the ball at all. Against the only teams he played with a pulse he averaged 124YPG.

The next best QB was McCord at 18th who they just ran off to the transfer portal.

After that was Paddock for ILL who really shouldn’t even qualify with only 1220 yards passing all year. His rating? 40th.

Bottom line, we have no idea how good UM, Penn State and Ohio State are because it’s unclear if the offenses were historically bad up there with horrific QB play or if those defenses were historically good because the schedules don’t let us see how they would do against functional non-B10 teams.

And none of them played anyone else with a pulse

Penn State is the ultimate fraud and Michigan and Ohio State greatly benefit from it.

Defenses can be elite when the offenses can’t quit tripping over themselves.

I can tell you with absolute confidence that ND is not the tenth best team in the country.

How is LSU ahead of both FSU and Ole Miss? Also, how is A&M ahead of Ole Miss? Oregon ahead of Washington? Wow!

Computers don't like Washington because of the close wins against some bad teams in they middle of the season. Computers also don't take into account the injuries and that a bad flu bug hammered the UW locker room during the middle of the season. The Pac-12 Championship Game was the healthiest UW had been since early in the year.

Smart on their part since playing out of conference games only matters depending on the name of your school. One of the current playoff teams DID play an out of conference team and LOST handily at HOME while another team played 2 out of conference games from the "premier conference in the country" won both (and the rest of their games) and the outcomes of all of the above didn't matter at all.
