I don’t know anything about this, but reading between the lines the five or six posters that seem closest to this are saying there is more to the story. They seem to agree with the dismissal.
Maybe the lesson for the coach to learn is that yes winning is important, but equally important is no acting like a dick when you do it.
Sounds like he was dating a student, partying with his players, bringing his friends around, and not listening to his boss. Those are issues that will get you fired from a Catholic school no matter if you win or not.

If they were worried about limiting people on the sideline for state title games, they definitely solved that problem with this forced resignation. Won't have to worry about that burden again

If the guy is a first class a-hole the school did the right thing firing him. Catholic schools especially need to remember the purpose of school is not to win football games
Give catholic Br all the recruiting nonsense you want but they understood that. Dale Weiner had a lifetime pass as coach because he was a great man who taught lifelong values, not for his magical whirly bird offense that always let us down

He should have been fired for that necklace.

There is enough blame to go around on both sides. Coach definitely did things to be fired and Pizzolato and admin is incompetent to run school/athletics. Both should be fired and start fresh....... but we all know this is a revolving door and will happen again with whoever the next Coach/Admin will be.

That doesn’t mean anything. If he’s a D1 prospect he wants a decent team and a decent coach. He doesn’t want to get hurt because the new 1A coach is clueless.
Jai has been at AC with my son since Pre-K. He aint going anywhere and will run for 2000 yards again next year even if they give the Janitor the head coaching job. Drey is a good coach but talent wins Football games and there is still plenty of it coming back in 2019.

Why fire him for something as petty as people on the sidelines?
Wait for something with teeth that doesn’t make you as the admin look petty?
Because, if what other have mentioned is true, this is a far less embarrassing reason for the school to fire him.
Especially considering they made the news 15 or so years ago for a coach getting arrested for banging a student.

Well Julius was already the coach before. But now resides as equipment manger/field house janitor/bus driver for the team.

Should just promote Bolotte again. That worked well last time

He applied for a bunch of on field passes for program boosters, people that were giving money to him, for the championship game in the Dome. His bosses told him they didn’t want people on the field just because they gave money to the program. They ordered him to withdraw the pass applications.
Come game time, the boosters were on the sidelines. People asked the administration about it and they called the Coach in on it. He basically said “I went ahead and got them passes.” So they fired his arse.
Whether you think the boosters should be on the field or not, when the boss says not to do something and you do it anyway... well... you get fricking fired.
If this is, in fact, what happened then the coach should have been disciplined. But if this was a first offense on his part, then I think firing him is going way overboard.

Some schools just don’t deserve to win, and do that which submarines their chances of winning, like firing a coach who brought you to prominence because he wouldn’t ease .
Maybe Ascension CATHOLIC SCHOOL values some things more than winning football games. Crazy concept, I know, but it’s possible.

What really happened?

I don't discredit that notion, however if that was the case all along then why would they hire a young, single guy to be their HC in the first place? And why let this drag on as long as it supposedly did?

ACHS is a school under Baton Rouge Diocese control like St. Michael, Catholic, St. John, etc...
FYI, Catholic is not a diocesan school. It's owned and operated by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart.

A poster earlier corrected me on that. That's why Catholic is such a well run institution. Diocese control sucks!

That’s not what the article stated

This is so frickin spot on for so many little shitty catholic schools in LA.

Let’s recap.
Dude was fired because...
*Admins being petty about boosters on the field and disobeying an order
*Boosters were in fact just friends , and not folks who actually donate
* He was running up the score when the admin said not to.
*He’s knocking boots with a girl who attends the school (current GF graduated from AC last year? Hmmm)

You are talking about a 1A HS coach, that wins. If you want to win consinstently at 1A you work in the gray area somehow. Because those coaches and players move on routinely.
Nothing this guy did was fireable in and of itself right? Was the girl 18 when they met? How old is he? It seems like they did the appropriate thing and waited to be official until after she graduated. I went to school with multiple girls that dated guys well into their 20s. Shady sure, illegal or fireable though?
This is what I would have done unless there was something worse about to leak, same thing Urban should have done with Zack Smith.
The guys was a winner on the way up. Help him get a job elsewhere. Both sides move on, no one looks bad. Asking someone to resign over something that petty is weak. For a guy that just won 2 state titles.
There’s plenty of guys with D1 prospects at QB, RB, or multiple positions that don’t win.
