So 27 (last year) dating a HS senior at the school he coaches and works at?

That's not going to end well and unless he's Timmy Tebow, he probably is guilty of getting it on between a teacher and a student, which we all know, is a legal issue.

I know this has an absurd spin in the coaches favor but it’s also the truth. This is what we ‘know’, and this is what he was fired for:

A: sideline passes to boosters in their 2nd state title game in a row which were awarded without issue the previous year.

B. Dating a 19 year old as a 28 year old

C. The real dinger though- winning by too many points

Lol

WTF? Does this even mean?

. Other teams stopped scheduling them as they were getting players injured ( there is a reason AC had a crappy schecule)

This year there was almost a fight after a game as he had his starters score with :20 left while up 40+. It was mentioned in the article

This makes no sense at all.

Yeah and if that's the school's side it's a crappy one.

Awful necklace, but what's wrong with his beard? Looks fairly normal to me?

I also wanted to point out that pretty much every state title team, has multiple wins by 40+. That whole idea is laughable.

Not unless he runs the belly series or thinks a 6 yard pass is throwing deep.

Per the article he didn’t disobey the order, but he can’t control how they got the sideline pass.

Most small private schools aren’t loaded with money. Football gate money usually fund almost every other sport.

Smaller private schools travel very well as compared to inner city New Orleans schools, which might bring 20 people to an away game if you are lucky.

Piss off the coaches of the small private schools/small rural public schools and they stop playing you. You are forced to schedule teams that don’t travel well.

School loses a solid amount of money.

Maybe Ascension CATHOLIC SCHOOL values some things more than winning football games.

If there was more to this story than was has been reported and verified via statements. Then no, the CATHOLIC SCHOOL really likes winning and the money that follows it. shite like this happens all over.

The catholic school that I went to fired their AD/HFC after he was there for quite some time. Dude caught a lot of slack when he was hired and got his then gf preggo(out of wedlock). Then rumors started to surface about a swinger ring that they were apparently the moderators of. This included many parents of students, and other people in the small town. Someones spouse got mad about someone fricking their spouse and bam it got to the priest and the school couldn't ignore the rumors anymore.

So yes schools value winning and the money. They are also willing to ignore rumors until they can't anymore. They will put up with shite until they can't. You get reprimanded, maybe you should straighten your shite out, and follow the path for a while so you don't get fired.

Yeah, who the hell cares who is on the sidelines. And if there’s any person that should be deciding who gets on the sideline, it should be the HC.

He may have deserved to be fired for other reasons, but the school looks really really bad here firing him for “sideline passes”

I would imaging parents of the teenage students on the sideline care. In the end BOTH the coach and administrator has a right to decide.

Tons of liability issues can come into play. Say a “booster” got drunk before going to the game and something happens on the sideline. Now the school has to answer why that person was there.

Not worth the risk and as a coach he should have respected that request.

Yeah the article basically says he out smarted and out politic’d the administration and they were butt hurt over it.

Admin: ‘Drey, these boosters can’t habe a sideline pass’
Drey: ‘boosters, I can’t give you a pass this year. But if you call Joe at the super dome he will give them to you’
Admin: ‘Drey, we are tired of you outsmarting us and winning too big’

Like I said, this is one of the most asinine reasons ever for firing a football HC.

School looks awful here.

Liability and risk for being on the sideline at a HS football game? Lol. You must be related to the principal.
