At our school priest has final call on everything. He usually just goes along with recommendations from principal, advisory council, etc though

While I see how it could be cause for concern, I don't think they were ever together (officially) while she was a student so I am not sure that should matter if she is 1) over 18 and 2) already graduated.
Yea but obviously we can all put together that they were probably together while she was a student

You don't fire a coach ("Force to Resign") for that kinda petty bull shite.
You underestimate the pettiness of some people. Not saying you're wrong but if it was "money" people he denied field passes to, you bet this could happen.
ETA: later post suggests that just the opposite happened and he allowed "money" people on the field.

Much more to the story than that article, which is from his side only.
If an administrator doesn’t want people on the sideline don’t bring them. It makes sense to want to limit access. No need to have extra adults, not on staff, around high school kids. Nothing good will come from that.
The running up the score thing was for a reason. He would keep his starters in all game, even against weak opponents. Other teams stopped scheduling them as they were getting players injured ( there is a reason AC had a crappy schecule)
This year there was almost a fight after a game as he had his starters score with :20 left while up 40+. It was mentioned in the article.
It was hurting the school from a scheduling standpoint and causing problems (fights). They had brought this up before and he kept doing it. Thus the contract.
Always more than one side to the story.

Trosclair said the disagreement came after the administration had forced him earlier in the football season to sign a contract promising not to run up the score on other teams and to try to keep games within 14 points

Here is a couple: His girlfriend graduated last year and they were dating when she was a student. I heard the partying with students stuff as well. Always thought he was invincible and made a lot of decisions on his own without the OK from administration.

So he was fired for being too good at his job? Come on. I doubt the players cared.
As spurrier said I believe, it’s my job to score it’s their job to stop me. I can’t help that they aren’t good at their job.
So now the players are probably going to get some terrible coach and go 2-8 in 2019. That’ll teach the players!

Maybe in 2020. They're a one man team with a stud RB who gets 35 carries a game and plays LB. He'll be a senior in 2019. He could go 8-2 with 10 band members on the field with him.

When you only have 30 something players, there are limits to pulling starters.
Especially if they tried to do what they could to prevent players playing both sides of the ball.
About the best they could do would be stop throwing it and keep the runs inbounds.

Its that "officially" that is the issue... if they weren't together officially but still getting it on the side it is still a cause for concern.

I don’t know this guy and don’t get me wrong he very well may be a D-bag. But he was a hell of a winner.
Seems like if he was that big of a D-bag he’d hang himself for something big soon enough.
Why fire him for something as petty as people on the sidelines?
Wait for something with teeth that doesn’t make you as the admin look petty?

You don’t think he transfers now? Bet he is working on it.

That doesn’t mean anything. If he’s a D1 prospect he wants a decent team and a decent coach. He doesn’t want to get hurt because the new 1A coach is clueless.

Big difference between running an offense and running plays with starters very late in the game (see: KIPP) BIG difference.

This is HS not middle school or rec league. Tell your boy that got his arse beat to man up, hit the weights, and realize that life isn’t fair.
I got beat 63-3 once in Hs to the state championship team. We learned a lot that day. We watched that film forever and a lot in the off season.
Winning too big is an absurd reason to fire a HS coach unless the players on the team had issues with it.
