Correct.

Several schools attempted to hire him and every attempt ended in a PR shitstorm that prevented his hiring.

IIRC, Southern Miss tried to hire him a few years back. They previously served as a rehab ground (literally and metaphorically) for Larry Eustachy after he got fired from Iowa State for carousing with coeds after games.

Art's career is being railroaded

There's been a lot worse coaches keep jobs

Jimmy coached Miami back in the day and is looked at like a god - them boys at Baylor couldn't shake a stick at all the shite the Miami players were doing

Except he wasn't was he? He was found liable civilly in the wrongful death case brought by the Goldman family. Under that standard, he was found to have caused the death of Ron Goldman by clear and convincing evidence (more likely he did than not). Let's be intellectually and historically honest here, shall we?

Not true. NCAA found him guilty of failure to provide an atmosphere of compliance. Which is as weak as they could put it while several civil lawsuits were in place.

Baylor has settled at least 5 civil lawsuits naming Briles among others filed by victims of the rapes he helped cover up and the internal “Pepper Hamilton Report” thought to show Briles and Ken Starr had ongoing knowledge of the rapes and steps they took to cover it up has never been fully released for public review.

Criminally, he didn’t commit the rapes. So I guess he has that going for him.

Well if you’re going to make that stretch, then you’re probably relieved to know that the only coach in American sports to cover anything up has been removed, amirite?

If he wasn’t beating TU on the reg, he’d still be head coach at Baylor, fact!

Baylor has always been a College of Great Christian Values, and also of coaches with integrity like Art Briles and Dave Bliss.
They will probably pursue Urban Meyer next.

Back in the '80s, people didn't care about grown men fricking 16 year old girls.

How many women were raped so that Baylor could have a decent football program?

This literally means nothing other than Briles wouldn't talk to the NCAA as much as they wanted him to because they have no real power.

Classic accusation = guilt argument

Nevermind the full-fledged criminal investigation returned nothing.

How many were convicted in an actual court of law? How many players of his were exonerated completely?

Two. One of them was convicted and then had the decision overturned twice in appeals and is back in jail.

I know there are some Baylor fans on here that swear he fell on the sword for the BOS and the president?

I think it was a clear witch hunt by ESPN and Texas. Baylor was emerging as the Big 12 power with Briles and UT and ESPN had too much to lose. ESPN was running stories nonstop on this fiasco and even claimed up 50% of women on campus had been raped.

Whether or not it was a hit job, the way ESPN covered the whole thing and then dropped it after Briles was canned is sketchy as hell

Right. Because when a school hires a law firm to look to exonerate itself and instead the President, AD and head football coach are fired or resign as soon as the report comes in - it is all because they were cleared of all wrongdoing.
