Former Baylor coach Art Briles will not be the Grambling offensive coordinator after all, a university spokesperson confirmed Monday.

Briles has stepped down at Grambling following an attempt by new coach Hue Jackson to hire the controversial former Baylor head coach to his staff.

The school faced considerable blowback, including from legendary player and coach Doug Williams, on its decision last week to hire Briles.

Let’s see if Hue has to step down for being an admitted money launderer and fraudster

I’m surprised Hue isn’t going with him after that statement yesterday

So have we as a society decided this guy can never work in college football again?

Thats the left and cancel culture. Youre not allowed to participate in society or have a job anymore.

You are forced to become a govt leach like them. Kinda funny how that thinking goes

There’s only one way to rectify this, hire former SWAC legend Marcus Jacoby.

Calling it “cancel culture” to not want your school to employ a coach who was shown to help cover up what he did at Baylor as a coach for your school is quite a stretch

Consequences of your own actions isn’t cancel culture. If a doctor kills too many patients and can’t get hired as a doctor anywhere, that doesn’t mean he got cancelled, it means people don’t trust them due to their past history in that role

It’s not like people are demanding he be fired as a dentist assistant down the road because he of what he did as a football coach

Seems like that was already decided before him taking the Grambling OC job. He never got back to the college game up until this point after leaving Baylor.

Perception absolutely matters, but truth should shape perception and ultimately define how one is viewed.

How many were convicted in an actual court of law? How many players of his were exonerated completely?

I know there are some Baylor fans on here that swear he fell on the sword for the BOS and the president?

He can have a job. He just can’t be a college football coach. He proved he can’t handle the responsibility. Too bad so sad. He isn’t entitled to being a football coach and when you frick up like he did you have to find a new profession.

Also SMH at try to make this a left/right issue as if there arent tons of conservatives who also feel Briles should be done in CFB.

I imagine that Deshawn Watson is done too - couldn’t even be the QB coach at Grambling? Is that how the game is played?
