Adding on the domestic violence to already being a hated dick made him radioactive.

That hour of ATH and PTI was the highlight of my day back in the mid 2000s. I literally didn't miss an episode

I got sucked into a rabbit hole the other day of PTI segments during and leading up to game 7 of the 04 ALCS, and it made me sad. what a golden era of American sports

eta-and before SFP comes in with his canned ackshually response, I’m not saying it was the pinnacle of athletic performance, but it was the pinnacle of narrative and the nation being glued to something collectively outside of the super bowl. at least in my lifetime

He had already went from the Chicago Sun Times to “AOL Fanhouse” and then the domestic abuse happened so he was already barely hanging onto a career at that point and that sealed the door shut more or less

Watched that show every day in the mid 2000s. Remember cowlishaw jinxing LSU basketball in final four in 2006. (On a serious note, it was cool watching ride LSU for a week or so everyday).

I remember cowlishaw melting every day during the 06 heat nba finals comeback series against the Mavs

I LOVED watching this show in the 2000s. That and PTI. Woody Paige was the GOAT. Hasn't really been good in a VERY VERY VERY long time though.

My mom always had the biggest crush on Tony Reali too. For a while she wouldn't shut up about him.

Think I watched it a couple times and only 10 mins the most. It's the one where they keep adding up points or something like that? I don't care what they do with it.

Tony Reali is 46 years old. Damn. The former Pardon the Interruption intern is damn near 50.

To be fair, he voluntarily left a contract extension with the Sun Times because he believed print media was dying, and he ultimately ended up being right for the most part.

AOL was hiring a bunch of sports writers away from newspapers at the time, and it was seen as a pretty big coup for them. Mariotti was also still a regular on ATH, so his career was still going pretty strong before the domestic abuse incident.

Didn’t know it was still on TBH. Then again, I only watch ESPN for Game Day. Wow how times have changed.

Who's old enough to remember the old Sunday morning show, The Sports Reporters, when Dick Schaap hosted?

One of the few ESPN shows I like. I watched it a lot in it's early days when TJ Simers, Bob Ryan, and JA Adonde were frequent panelists.

I was a religious watcher of Around the Horn and PTI during the 2000s. The 4 o'clock central hour was great.

Yes.. I'll never forget when they replaced Max Kellerman with Stat Boy. Me and my friend always thought Stat Boy was too liberal with the points compared to Max.

I miss Reali on PTI. I was enjoyed his errors against Kornhieser and Wilson at the end of the show.

I stumbled upon Around the Horn a couple of years ago and saw how bad Woody Page looked. Really made me feel bad.
