The modern college football writer is akin to the baseball writer of the 20s through 50s. They “know more“ than the fans, players and coaches and don’t have a problem telling you so. They have huge egos that are easily bruised and hold grudges for decades. They have a grandiose idea of their importance and impact on the game. You are better off ignoring anything that they write.

They absolutely are rooting against it. They did the same thing to the UFC in March and April resulting in getting their events cancelled that were scheduled at Indian reservations. Dana White called them out on it. They were calling, harassing, and threatening any of the venues with negative press if they allowed any events to take place. Ultimately they even got the Governor of California to call Disney to force cancellations.
It’s what the media does. They CREATE the “news” instead of reporting it.

Hannity is as extreme in his political views as the liberals are. His ratings are great but that's more a showing of the strength of the conservative supporters. He's been known to throw a little conjecture and bias into his reporting as well. Bill O'Reilly was an example of the same thing. Great support but like liberals, quick to shout down anyone that doesn't agree with his stance. To be fair, both of those shows are/were opinion shows that happened to report news
I like Tucker Carlson. Always have even on MSNBC. Don't agree with everything but still he's more along my line of thinking. He has pandered a bit since moving to Fox. Didn't take much to be contrarion on MSNBC
