Football media is just doing what all profit-driven media does...when there is no news to report, the media creates news. We don't have actual football to talk about so the media shifts the topic to the subject of whether there will be football.

Ross Dillinger is a main culprit of this. He keeps a tally of players testing positive, sitting out and stories of sick family members

Doesn’t everyone want to know this? Seems relevant

If they report how many test positive & who is sitting out, you can’t understand who hasn’t got it or opted out without the media telling you? Wut

If the health of the players are truly the concern, maybe report on the player’s health after testing positive. That too hard for you to understand?

They all said the season wouldn’t start and want to be “right”

Just like lots of nobodies that post on bulletin boards!

Even if it's something bad for "their" team, some folks just want to be right.

The sad thing is that nobody else cares about anything except for their team doing well

I’ve seen some take strong offense to this given that no season affects their livelihood.

Right. Why would I be rooting against a system that keeps me employed?

no. these writers are getting tons of comments, likes, retweets, etc.. They are building their brands. They are getting more clicks talking about this than during a regular season. They are moreso taking advantage. when the season resumes, they will have way more eyes on their content

The vast majority of sports writers are vagina bleeding lefties, so of course they want everything cancelled.

Journalists look at themselves as better people than us regulars. They have a very uppity view of themselves. I think that has a lot to do with this.

Hopefully, they lose their jobs if the season is canceled so we can say something good came from canceling the season.

They have commented on that. Here is the story on LSU’s outbreak, for instance.

quote:

No LSU athlete or staff member has required hospitalization, and very few have experienced effects beyond mild symptoms

quote:

The school, in fact, got good news Friday night, when test results returned negative for a group of players who had frequented the bars.

who? link?

Don’t reference France, Spain, UK, Japan, Germany, or South Korea as all of them are seeing an uptick in cases in the last 2-3 weeks.

Also. We are the United States of America, why would we concern ourselves with the opinions of lesser countries?

Reporters interview people in the know about their thoughts on whether or not there will be a season, they then report those thoughts. Most of those people in the know think it’s a slim chance there is a season. It isn’t the opinions of the reporters fans are mad at, but that’s who it gets taken out on.

We were discussing CFB writers, not official statements from universities. Your quotes are completely irrelevant to the topic
