trying to put yourself in the best position to win has literally forever been something we appreciate in players... Until lebron did it.

how many 4s have had seasons as efficient as Lebron's 5 best?

He should be better

I was more excited after the Decision because I thought the Heat would be an awesome team to watch. I like awesome basketball.

I've never hated or loved him. That's for children.

He's built to be a pf but he's so smart he can play point. He had a better perimeter game in Miami too, which is just frustrating because he showed hrs good enough.

I like to call basketball how it is, but he gets a lot of hate and I just grew to appreciate him. It'd be a 4-0 gsw finals if LeBron retired because Toronto couldn't do this.

Liked him and liked him even more after he chose to return. As the to the whining and arrogance the whole golden state team is full of showboaters and babies.

Akron is an entirely different city than Cleveland. I'm sure people from Cleveland shite on Akron all the time, and vice versa.

Same with Lebron. He's the best player in the world. I don't celebrate or root for him and I recognize his flaws. He is too powerful and has tried to rig the league to his advantage constantly. Just

He's the best player in the world yet he should be better? Oh and he should stick to playing PF and be one dimensional even though he can play all 5 positions? Did you read what you typed?

You obviously don't get what I mean. Playing PF allows the team to put another athlete on the court beside him. He would not be hampered in the least bit, other than he has to be more physical for longer stretches of time. He is saving himself from the abuse, which I get. But it costs him in effectiveness. It has happened over and over. He thrives in the post.

If he embraced the role, they could have constructed a better team around his talents. I've always said he is the next coming of Barkley (circa 93). He needs to be surrounded by shooters and athletes. It wouldn't make him one dimensional. Its just how the arrange the team around him..

Wut? Why would he want to be the next coming of Charles Barkley?

He plays PF and all other positions when he needs to. He's played with other athletes and shooters

Lebron used to be my favorite player. Probably the first time my favorite player was the best player.

Outside of this series, Lebron has had an enormous impact on the league, and how teams are structured. After he went to the heat, it disrupted parity, especially in the east. I could expand, but simply put, he got exactly what he wanted. I had a huge amount of respect for the guy that put his team on his back every year and had a shot because he was the best. I lost respect when he got those "insurance" championships. He has a different demeanor on the court now than he did 8-10 years ago.

Fair or not, I just don't buy into him anymore. If he would have been grinding in CLE this whole time, and never won, I would have rooted for his team every time. By going to an almost sure thing to have a shot at the championship, he lost a lot of his charm. He was scared he would never wins championship, so he basically bought himself one. He has now postured this return trip to Cleveland almost as a favor, and they paid dearly for him.

It isn't like I all of the sudden started thinking he wasn't the best player, I just realized he was really immature and not worth looking up to, or helping to perpetuate his stardom. I still think he is an amazing player, I just don't love the way he has handled his career, and have no sympathy for him when he whines on the court as if he hasn't caught a few breaks over the years.

However, I wouldn't have liked him so much back then, I might like him a whole lot more now. Son of a bitch broke my heart.

You do realize you just described Lebron's Miami years with that statement, right?

Insurance titles is a great way of putting it, he went to a sure thing to make sure his legacy at least didn't include "no rings".

And EVEN THEN, he lost two out of four Finals trips (and would have been three out of four if not for Ray Allen and a last minute collapse by SA) including getting owned by Dirk and friends who had no business beating them.

There was no shame in what happened in Cleveland from 2003-2010, he had them in contention almost every year by himself. They never got him any help.

I'm not sure how these false narratives are ingrained so deeply into some people's minds.

I become a more casual fan after the blow-back from the decision. Not that he didn't handle it poorly, just that so many people acted like jilted 15 year olds because he held a press conference. It just seemed weird for it to be so personal for people who have never met the guy.

You know zero about basketball. You want to take the best passer in the NBA and delegate him to posting up as "PF". You do know coaches never even use the term PF right? Positions are just there to make the game easier to follow as fans. LBJ plays pretty much every "position" in every game. The majority of his points come from inside the paint even though he doesn't post up. He's likely the most efficient player in the history of basketball. And it's obvious he's much more effective facing up and attacking than posting up. His post game isn't near as good as his face up game.
