The vast majority of people that hated him after the decision, as evidenced once again by this thread, hate him because they apply rules to him that are never applied to anyone else in any sport, i.e., he didn't stay in Cleveland and win a championship by himself, because his front office wouldn't get him any help.

This is just assumption. There is definitely truth to it but if your argument is to claim the Decision did not create any new disapproval you are sorely mistaken. The burning of the jerseys and the whole villain narrative attest to it.

Literally no one is arguing it was a wise choice anymore. Not even you. Even most of the commentators on the channel it was broadcast on have come to a near consensus it was not a wise choice and had much more negative feedback then positive. Fair or unfair. That doesnt matter.

We are speaking on The Decision and whether it was bad PR. In all of your rambling you have yet to put forth an argument for why it was good PR.

So MJ and Magic Johnson never put a team on their back then, based on your logic. They both played with guys capable of standing on their own, so they didn't put anyone on their back. If that's your logic, ok. I disagree, but ok.

No, I wouldn't. Thats why what LBJ did his first run to the finals was so special. In spite of haters trying to turn it against him. When I am arguing true anti-Lebroner's I almost always grab for that example to exemplify his greatness. To which I have yet to read a respectable counter. It's always "yeah but he couldn't win." and yeah, he couldn't, but only a handful of players ever could of done what he did to get that team there. Micheal Jordan in his place wasn't winning against that Spurs team.

Has James carried those Heat teams in some individual instances? Absolutely. But to say he carried those teams to two championships is just not true.

Lebron has had an enormous impact on the league, and how teams are structured. After he went to the heat, it disrupted parity, especially in the east. I could expand, but simply put, he got exactly what he wanted. I had a huge amount of respect for the guy that put his team on his back every year and had a shot because he was the best. I lost respect when he got those "insurance" championships.

I'm not going to get into whether or not this is a valid criticism, but I did want to point out that people some how think LeBron, Wade, and Bosh were the first "Big 3" to pair up in the history of the NBA. 3 years prior to them joining up in Miami, Boston created their own Big 3 and went out and won the NBA Championship in their first year together. Hell, if you want to go back and find the worst supporting cast on a championship team you've got to go to Hakeem and the 1994 Rockets.

Groups of stars win championships. It has always been that way. Criticizing the way those stars get together and using as a knock against their career is pretty petty.

Holding teaming up against Lebron and only Lebron seems silly and ignorant of history as you say.

However the way they go about it is certainly fair game for critique. Going too far knighting for or slamming him probably begins to say more about the person then anything else but there is valid criticism that can be leveled at The Decision. Lots of invalid and stupid criticism too.
