My buddy played with him at Rice and always talks about how down-to-earth Rendon is given his accomplishments and fame. He's also said numerous times that he thinks Rendon will sign and play out one huge contract and hang 'em up.

He's apparently not the type who lives and breathes baseball, just happens to be excellent at it and obviously is enjoying the fruits of his labor.

IIRC, he is one of those guys that doesn’t follow baseball outside of his own team. He doesn’t watch or keep up with it apparently at all.

I'd lean this way as well, depending on the length. He will be 30 next season. I don't see him playing another 7 years. Will be interesting to see what kind of deal he ends up with.
