Well they also could have resigned him but it was clear they either couldn’t afford to or he didn’t want to. If it was due to them being cheap that’s kind of sad for OKC even if it’s an economic reality, regardless of how Adams turns out.

The Cavs screwed up. He's turning into a generational player and Love has serious flaws. They could have been set for a decade and a half, from Lebron to wiggins.

BB03.
If you're still out there.
Man, this is my bad. I owe you a beer.

Honeslty have debated this too much on the MSB but OKC at the time had a Kendrick Perkins problem and were afraid to max KD, Russ and their 6th man Harden. What happens if that core together isn’t good enough to win a title?
And props to Daryl Morey for taking a chance on Harden but to say everyone knew Harden would become this good is the true definition of hindsight is 20/20.

This is kind of what I am getting at. None of us know whether they were afraid to max him out because of the tax bill, or they were afraid to max him out because he wasn’t worthy. If they were afraid to do it because of money that is a shame. As a fan I could live with them missing on the projection because of exactly what you said.

It would not have taken a genius to know you pay harden over Russ. Kevin would still be there too had they picked James.

But those triple-doubles though

Yyr
But he had no help
This year he got his guys and he’s a Paul George / Steve O out two week ankle sprain from not even making the playoffs.

Man, it’s not top 20. You must be trolling.
Love helped Cleveland win a title.

I think Wiggins is going to be a top 15-20 player ever, yes.

I was reading through this thread highly confused. Someone were claiming he'd be top 15 player all time when hes not even top 15 in the current NBA. Heck, hes the 3rd best player on his own team.
Then I saw a post from me and realized this thread was bumped from 3 years ago

It's always somewhat of a leap of faith to say that kind of thing this early into a player's career, but he'll likely end the year averaging 20/7/2. You look at the greats and how they looked in their rookie year, he falls in with them. He's definitely light years ahead of where Love was his rookie year, and Wiggins only had 1 year of college ball.
When he puts some muscle on his frame and refines his offensive skill set, forget about it. I have no problem believing this kid will be a top 3 player in a couple of years.
Yikes.
Well I still stand by the fact that Wiggins has all of the physical tools needed to be a superstar. So many things go into taking that next step though. He got his money already though, so I think what we see now is pretty close to what he's going to be at his peak. Can't teach desire to improve and I don't think that's there. Maybe Lebron met the guy before the draft and knew he didn't have that drive in him. And I did say he had some improving to do, which he didn't do.
He's still only 22 (23 in a few days) so maybe he takes some miraculous jump in performance but not likely. He's a solid starter but definitely a bust having been the former #1 overall pick.
