I watched it live, and traveling never even entered my mind. I go cut grass and come back in, and there’s multiple threads about it being a travel.

Gather, 1-2...unless you expect the refs to call it in the toe tap

@ Kentucky
Tennessee
Maryland
That’s three games off the top of my head where LSU got very lucky on end-of-game calls. All three would have gone to overtime if those calls were different.
LSU’s big men get mugged a lot with no foul call, but at the same time LSU gets away with a lot of over-the-backs.
The nfc championship game got LSU fans in the habit of bitching about officiating no matter what. It’s crazy how much we Bitch about officials these days. Every fan base has it, but LSU has really cranked it up since January.

I've seen so many people on this board complain about perfectly legal steps being a travel.

I love when people complain about traveling yet don't understand the rule.

Two steps from the pickup. Not a travel. Stop overanalyzing LSU's close wins and deal with it.

Didn’t see your phantom travel but noticed #25 sticking his knee out to bump him that wasn’t called.

And it’s a perfect example of how I was saying people who don’t know the rules are the ones who are complaining.
For the record, there is no such thing as over the back. Reaching over someone to grab a rebound is perfectly legal. You cannot push them in the back - that’s a foul. You cannot grab them to get a rebound - that’s a foul. But grabbing a rebound over someone’s back is legal.

You can call it a travel, but you have to ignore rules. Feel free to ignore rules, but it's kind of dumb and pointless.
He’s not gathering the ball on the first step. He’s cupping it against his body to protect it already. I’m glad they didn’t call it and Tremont is so damn deceiving with ball it’s amazing. But if you watch the whole slow mo you can see where that could be called a travel. He so damn smooth you don’t notice it. The games over they aren’t changing it so I don’t know why people are so angry with folks saying it’s a travel. It doesn’t matter. LSU won.

The aspect of Waters’ move that does technically make it a travel is a toe-drag/toe-tap that, again, was almost impossible to pick up in real time.
A slow-motion replay from the sideline – the final angle in the video above – reveals Waters’ right shoe grazing the floor as he explodes off his left foot toward the basket:
So, long story short, it was a travel that can’t and shouldn’t be called.

It wasn't a travel IMO. I agree that it looks close in slow motion, but it's gather, step, step. That's not a travel.
So it isn't a travel...but even if it was, after the A&M football game and the Saints NFCCG, I don't give a single frick about my team benefiting from calls ever again. I don't care if it is the most egregious call (or no call) that benefits LSU or the Saints, I will literally not care at all and assume it is "referee karma" paying us back. Forever.

I've wondered this entire tournament if traveling is even still a rule in the game of basketball at all levels.
We know it's not in the NBA but all these 3-step plus a jump step in this tournament is getting ridiculous.
Doesn't matter what game you are watching, the post guys are shuffling their feet like crazy and the guards are going 1-2-3.
