Except he gave Byrd a pass after they appealed and let them back into the playoffs.

The Byrd issue has nothing to do with this situation. It was actually a good reversal by the LHSAA for what amounts to a class scheduling issue.

You're talking about something completely different. I was talking about the director being fair in applying rules. He suspended Byrd and the Executive Committee overturned him. So what you said affirms my argument.

Fair enough. If the executive board can overturn him, how much power does he actually have to change the culture of the LHSAA? What did they want the kids to do? Stand there and watch Bogalusa start a fight, clear the bench, and beat down their friends? Bogalusa started it correct? Someone said there's no video evidence. Is this a case of the LHSAA following the NCAA example of being harder on teams that don't cooperate?

there has to be video, but the LHSAA has no subpoena power...

There is plenty of video evidence. Amite's game film "magically" didn't record the fight.

Fambrough just tweeted that suit is filed. Judge Bill Morvant was assigned case.

Not necessarily from the schools. WM and Ouachita got into a bench clearing brawl in 95 and the video mysteriously came up missing. Ouachita started it by their sideline, and every single one of us left the bench to go get our guys. No suspensions for anyone, just a warning that if it happened again we would be out of the playoffs. Happened in week 8 of the regular season I believe.

Are you really going to believe that a HS football program doesn't record every game for film study?

ETA: I just checked. Amite has a hudl account specifically for management of football game film.

I don't think it's necessarily bad for Amite. I guess it just depends on what Tangi has to show him. I don't know enough to say but I think most judges are gonna let the kids play unless the facts are so slanted against the team.

No doubt. The film guy for both teams most likely filmed the whole thing. They just deleted them.

That's not what I said at all. I said the schools didn't necessarily cooperate and the film of the fight might have mysteriously disappeared

game film operators generally shut down between plays - hence no official game film of fight... just like last year when a top LSU recruit was suspended then unssuspended.

They can but they don't have too. If the fight started during a play I doubt the film guy just stopped filming. Its possible but doubtful.

the game was at Amite, right?

because when games are filmed from a home press box, you can't really tell who on the visiting team entered the field because it's so far away. you know they entered it but the numbers are hard to read from that distance

maybe it's just me but there should be additional penalties for schools that file suits against the LHSAA and lose... what they're doing is trying to circumvent the LHSAA process

Nah. Even though they're in the wrong here, you don't want to punish people for trying to hold people accountable, especially semipublic entities like the LHSAA.
