Wahl was covering his eighth World Cup. He wrote Monday on his website that he had visited a medical clinic while in Qatar.

“My body finally broke down on me. Three weeks of little sleep, high stress and lots of work can do that to you,” Wahl wrote. “What had been a cold over the last 10 days turned into something more severe on the night of the USA-Netherlands game, and I could feel my upper chest take on a new level of pressure and discomfort.”

Wahl wrote that he tested negative for COVID-19 and sought treatment for his symptoms.

“I went into the medical clinic at the main media center today, and they said I probably have bronchitis. They gave me a course of antibiotics and some heavy-duty cough syrup, and I’m already feeling a bit better just a few hours later. But still: No bueno,” he wrote.

I’m pretty sure Wahl had a slightly bigger issue with Qatar.

Hoping it was natural causes for his family’s sake, but I’m doubting his brother will believe anything he doesn’t want to.

For fricks sake.

This is an American citizen, a journalist, doing his job, that may have been murdered by despicable people.

Y’all need to grow up.

His job doesn’t require him to wear LGBT attire. His job was to cover the World
Cup, yes? Is there a reason why he chose to take on bigger issues about another country’s government?

The progressive left loves to shite on America, but now on foreign soil it’s time to act better than?

I don’t want foreigners coming to America and shitting on my/our way of doing things. I don’t think it’s right to do the same in someone else’s backyard, be it Mexico, France, Iraq, whatever.

Agreed. He 100% deserved to be possibly murdered

What evidence do you have to say he “may have been murdered?”

This is an irrelevant comment. It’s two issues.
1. If you are a journalist, dead or alive, it’s not smart to go into that country and decide it’s a great time to shittalk their way of life and promote LGBT movements.
2. It sucks that he died. Any lost life of an innocent person can be tragic. It’s terrible for his family.

Contrary to the way this board seems to work, I don’t think someone that disagrees with me deserves some sort of death.

His job in Qatar is to report on soccer, not LGBTQIA+ activism for his brother.

I don't know if foul play was involved or not, but it is certainly a possibility.

It's tragic nonetheless.

I didn’t say that. But in a country like Qatar, it might be best to bite your tongue until you get back on American soil. I wouldn’t trust anybody over there.

It’s the same reason I wouldn’t have fricked around with a vape pen in Russia. It doesn’t matter what I think is right or wrong when the authority over there is looking for any reason to detain you.
