can Cooper Flag decide the Mavs arent making the playoffs and go back to Duke for another Final 4 run?
He’s under contract though…

As long as they don’t play professionally, sure.
College sports are professional. They are paid to play. It's just a different level of the same sport.

I fricking LOVE IT. The SEC and BIG10 created this shite show and now they want to blame everyone else for their bullshite.
The idea that these are anything short of professional leagues is laughable.
The Supreme Court has ruled that ANY rule that limits a person's ability to make money off of his/her NIL is unconstitutional.
I cant wait for mid-season transfers, Antonio Brown signing with Texas Tech, and whatever other bullshite emerges for these "students" who haven't seen a classroom in 3 years

Put a salary cap for college teams in NIL funds, and this goes away
You cant cap true NIL.
If Graves wants to pay a guy to tweet Canes ads once a week for a million thats real NIL

if the ncaa allows this, the flood gates will be fully open
you allow one, your going to have to allow others
you allow one, your going to have to allow others

The NCAA is doing it on purpose. They’re letting it get completely out of hand so congress will step in and grant them an anti-trust exemption

Do these former players have no shame
That was my reaction, as well, and then I did a full stop. It's not that world any more.
Once NIL funds became available, money men introduced themselves to otherwise innocent college athletes. But it didn't stop there, The "it" being the creation of a team spirit for a college team.
The team is no longer the players, it's also the adjuncts who are social media, who talk and pontificate and attract advertising dollars. With enough voices, lack of talent no longer matters. Get your name and image out there because maybe your publicity was just based on talent on the playing field when you participated before. Now you have another chance to become important and make yourself an influencer, etc.
Kid! Get off my snow covered lawn.

It's about the money they can make more in college now

However once you got to an American pro league after high school you should be ineligible to participate in NCAA sports.
Why?
They’re both pro sports.
Do I want to see congressional legislation to prevent this from happening? Yes.
Do I think it’s a total farce to pretend that people getting paid in the NCAA is any different than being paid in the NBA, NFL or Europe? Absolutely.
Make them employees, give them contracts, make eligibility 24U and call it a day.

Why pay for their so-called educations, and do they need to be housed and fed at university expense? Tudors for them for classes hypothetically missed?
Posted on 1/31/26 at 2:18 pm to Tiger2025
Ed O'Bannon did not fight for this.

That can end depending on what contract the player signs.

Only if their contract states their comp includes it.

classes
Talk to Carson Beck about classes. None of them will have to attend classes unless they want a degree.
