That place looked like it was on the verge of structural failure for years.

I drove past it back in 2007, and it looked like a collapse waiting to happen.

Colt Brennan.

The greatest thread in the history of official NFL team forums was The Cult of Colt on Extremeskins. It was hundred of pages of Hawaii fans battling with Redskins fans during the preseason over the merits of Colt as a legitimate starting QB option for that upcoming season. Colt never played in a real game for the skins or any other NFL team.

There always seems to be a large amount of trash blowing across the field during games.

I was there in the 80s for a football game, back when Aloha Stadium also was home to a AAA baseball team. There were over 1” gaps in the astroturf where the cutouts for the bases were. . I’m glad no one broke their ankles or tore up a knee.

I had a similar random message board debate with some Hawaii broad who thought Timmy Chang was going to be a great pro QB.

I get being loyal to your guy, but geez.

Watched a few games there... Most notably 2019 opener whenever Hawaii beat Arizona

My Buddies and I snuck in and went stand behind Sumlin and just talked crap the whole game. Hawaii is a weird place, little student support but the locals sure do love smoking blunts, bbq'ing, and drinking beer outside the stadium. I don't blame them

But they have no fans since they have Communists leading Hawaii saying that people are unsafe going to a game with a virus that has a 99.999999% survival rate for the healthy general population.

we should just give Hawaii their independence and wait for them to collapse. then stroll in and build another death star. problem solved

I’ve never been Hawai’i. It’s in the plans, but as a ‘stadium collector’ I’ll have to miss out on this one. I read that they’ll be building an entirely new one and not renovating this one. Although I guess they could do it up like Stanford.

Went to some games there when I was stationed there in 09-12. You could literally go to games for free they where so desperate for fans.

Speaking of condemned stadiums, anyone go to the old Gator Bowl?

I have no idea how the place wasn't condemnwd for at least the last 12 years of its exsistance.

Place was a complete dump that would sway back and forth, creak and allow way too
many people to enter the WLOCP.

I was at the last WLOCP in '93 in the monsoon before they tore it down. Shithole is overstating how bad it was; I'm convinced it would have fallen down on its own within a year if abandoned.

I loved those late night games when they were good... one year even Bama went and got a piece of the action, as did Washington, BYU, Michigan St.
