And if our offense had a pulse, LSU wins the game.

A&M loses outright if LSU has Brennan.

That game was peak Mond.

I remember the Falcons/49ers game last year had an O/U of 50. The 49ers led 22-17 (total 39) with :05 left. The over hit.

The one that stung the most because of the money to be won was in Super Bowl XIV when 2/3's into the third quarter the L. A. Rams score a TD and Frank Corral comes out to kick the PAT.

The announcers chime in that he hadn't missed one in 52 attempts and he shanks it to make the 3rd quarter score 19-17. When the quarter ended, it was the same score and I had 0-7 on a football pool that would have paid $2,500 each quarter.

My worst poker bad beat came in a bar backroom cash game playing $10 & $20 and I had Kings full when a player across from me made quads to take a pot over $800-----and this was back in the mid 70's when $800+ was a nice hunk of change.

Yep I was in Vegas one year sat and watched entire Cowboys eagles game in book. Boys missed xtra point at end cost me a cool 1K. And this was from the 3 yard line. Taught
Me a lesson I still heed today

What? Why do you know this?

It a commonly discussed strategy very popular with analytics. And Pederson is a big fan of analytics.

Man, those 1/2 points can be a blessing or a curse, but one thing they'll never be is a push.

Where does Seahawks -6.5 tonight rank among those?

It's not a bad beat bc Pederson did what you are supposed to do down 14 in the 4th quarter.

they scored on a hail mary deflection

it's a bad beat no matter what happens on the conversion

Yep, anyone arguing otherwise is biased or doesn't know what they are talking about. A&M has had a good year but is not the 5th best team in the country

There was a Redskins Monday night game a few years ago against the chiefs. I had Redskins +7 and the total under 48.

Chiefs kick a field goal with 4 secs left to go up 23-20. On the kickoff the Redskins throw some laterals and throw one back to nobody at the 10 yard line. Chiefs pick it up and walk it into the end zone for a touchdown. Final 29-20. Lost the spread and the total. Has always stuck with me.

I had Eagles +6.5 last night so guess they all come back in the end.

terrible 2H bad beat Sunday on Colts -4.5 vs Tennessee ... Colts score with just over two minutes to cover it. Kick the onside and the Titans return the kick for a TD. You have to be kidding me.

Recover it .... game over. Bet won.
Was not happy.

I've had 2 many, but one that still pisses me off was a bulls game.

Bulls are up 5 i believe, and giving 3. Rodman gets fouled with .03 seconds to go. He goes to the free throw line and air balls the FT, so the other team gets ball at mid court.

They chuck it to guy who in 1 motion chucks it at basket, off backboard in for 3 pointer. Bulls loser, they win by 2.

Had he hit rim or backboard, time runs off, but because of air ball, time never starts.

Had Marlins vs maddux, guy bet $700 on maddux at -380. Marlins blew 3 straight ground balls for errors, and braves scored 3 runs in 9th to win game. Just horrible a horrible ending.

I think it was Game 4 of the NBA Finals, I had Lakers -7. It was nip and tuck most of the game, Lakers then pull away at the end to get it to nine. Herro comes down and hit a meaningless three at the buzzer to break my cover.

I had Tulsa over Tulane a couple weeks ago and only won because of a pick 6 in OT to allow Tulsa to cover.

BYU was playing someone this year and they were -50. They scored 49 by half and never scored again.

There’s been other cases of teams doing the same this year when down 14 and analytics show going for two there is actually the right call. In this instance there are like 10 seconds left so the odds are obviously super small but you go for two. If you miss it you have the chance to go for two again if you recover onside kick and score. If you make it like they did you win the game with a touchdown and pat. Your chances of winning in overtime in that game are very low. I actually found an article from last year explaining this exact scenario. LINK explains the numbers
