Also this wasn’t even a top 5 bad beat this weekend. There were some awful ones in college basketball like there always is

I think it was Game 4 of the NBA Finals, I had Lakers -7. It was nip and tuck most of the game, Lakers then pull away at the end to get it to nine. Herro comes down and hit a meaningless three at the buzzer to break my cover.

That happens all the time in NBA betting, shite drives me crazy

Yep, anyone arguing otherwise is biased or doesn't know what they are talking about. A&M has had a good year but is not the 5th best team in the country

i know i'm posting with an A&M fan sticker, but what schools are you going to put ahead of them that aren't already this year?

I say this and admit that this A&M isn't a top 5 team in any other year, and Mond is absolute trash. but even my Battered Aggie Syndrome doesn't really see a reason for them not to be #5.

to the OP, when LSU started that last drive i laughed because i knew it would f up the betting line for no good reason.

I understand the premise, but to me, for every bad beat there is a great win for someone else.

Bills vs. Patriots, 1998

The Line: Bills +3.5
The Final: Patriots 25, Bills 21
The Heartbreak: The 11 vs. 0 Conversion
This might be the most unique football beat in the bracket.

As a Bills +3.5 ticket holder, you were safe no matter what with Buffalo leading 21-17 with just seconds left.

The officials called pass interference on Patriots QB Drew Bledsoe’s Hail Mary attempt as time expired, giving the Pats an untimed down from the 1-yard line. They scored to go up 23-21. And still, you were safe.

But in frustration, the Bills walked off the field, leaving 11 Patriots against zero Bills players for the extra point. Instead of kicking the PAT, Adam Vinatieri just ran it in for two points and New England won 25-21, covering -3.5.

The only time in NFL history defensive pass interference has been called on a Hail Mary.

Yeah, betting basketball is crazy with foul shots and junk time. I wouldn't have minded losing on meaningless FTs or an uncontested layup. It just really pissed me off to get beat by one point on a three when everything finally looked good at the end of the game.

I seem to remember Spurrier took a safety out the back of the end zone at the end of a game while coaching South Carolina that broke some people.
quote:

The Gamecocks were winning 14-10 with the ball on their own nine-yard line facing a 4th and twelve with only four second remaining. Rather than punt the ball and risk a punt return or a block, and rather than just run around in circles, Steve Spurrier had his quarterback run back and out of the endzone as time expired.

Final score: 14-12. And loads of heartache for anybody that bet on South Carolina with the spread at either -3 or -3.5. One expert estimated that the play cost gamblers $30 million. A lot of those losses were undoubtedly made by USC boosters who can't be too happy with the Ole Ball Coach today.

I had Denny Hamlin to win a race earlier this year when there wasn’t anything else to do but watch NASCAR and he was leading in the final laps and then crashed into the wall with no cars in front of him and a pretty decent lead.

Lap 154 of 160 was so pissed

Peterson should be asked Why go for 2 with 12 seconds?

I don't know why he did it. But I think more teams SHOULD go for 2 when cutting the score to 8 late in the game.
The odds favor going for 2.

Horse racing, a few:

Had a harness horse, with a 27 length lead, and he broke stride in last 100 yards and got caught, not passed, at the wire, which means he goes behind any horse that catches him(body and bike). If he doesn't break stride, he was winner, but being on break and being lapped means he went to 2nd. My buddy looked up in sky and threatened to kick gods arse when he dies. I still laugh at that moment.

t-breds:

Had a horse with 15 length lead at Belmont in slop, with Julie Krone riding, 5 steps before the wire, the horse strokes out and falls into the mud, laying there, with wire a length away.
