What are the desperate teams at QB going to give up to get him in offseason? 2nd rounder?
I don't think he's worth a 1st rounder, but you never know. Or is he a free agent? Oakland gave up two 1st rounders for a declining Carson Palmer. I think the Jets go after Smith, and draft a big time receiver to complement him.

I laugh in the face of any team that gives up that much for Alex Smith

Alex Smith wasnt shite until he got with Jim Harbaugh. If I were a GM I would only take him if Jim came as the QB coach in a package deal

Kansas City and Andy Reid might be a decent combo. Not sure if Reid developed Mcnab, but every qb that played for him had some success. Even Jeff Garcia.

It also helped that he didn't have to learn a new system every year. A new OC every season is a tough thing to deal with.

After this season Smith has two years left on his deal which pays about 8m a year.

The niners can cut him before the draft and pay $1.5 m or trade him and pay nothing. For this reason I think he gets traded for a low round pick or maybe a conditional pick.
