This is what makes the whole thing pretty nuts to me. He would have had to risk like $2500 to win $1000

refuse to believe enough people like college baseball to get this thing to more than 5 pages

This issue has very little to with college baseball.
It will blow up due to it being an "Alabama coach throws a game for money" story. And that's pretty damn big if proven to be true.

Details are coming out now showing this wasn’t the first time Bohanan did this.

If he was brazen enough to be on the phone with the guy as it happened, it definitely wasn't the first time.

I just hope we get some more credible reporting on this aspect of the story than just the 11.7 Podcast guy.

Once the investigation concludes we should. I don’t think he’s crossed over into anything criminal, but I expect the NCAA and the Ohio regulators will still have a lot to say about what transpired.

Stupidity run amuck.
LaVarr Arrington said the Bama coach got what he deserved by not having 3-4 people between him and the better, plus not having a designated fall guy.

Dumb motherfricker goes from coaching in the SEC to never coaching in any pro or college league. And how do you go home and explain this shite to your wife?

His job was cush. He won enough to keep that job for a long time. He recruited well. And was building a roster that would keep Alabama competitive. We would be happy with that. But throws it all away to make $7200 on a stupid bet. Who knows how bad the fallout for the program is now. Alabama got fricked bad in this too.

They said on Dan Patrick he was making, salary and bonuses, about 500K. And he threw it away.

Did he actually bet on the game or did he tip off the bettor about the injury before announcing it to the public?

The latter is bad. The former is an order of magnitude worse.

Ohio was the first to go public, buts bets were also place in Indiana that are under investigation.

quote:

The Indiana Gaming Commission has suspended all betting on University of Alabama baseball games. The commission told I-Team 8 that bets made in Indiana are under investigation.

“After those bets were made, news broke that the starting pitcher for Alabama would not be pitching that day. He was ‘injured,’ and they went with a bullpen guy, so that raised a lot of questions, ‘Why is this level of money coming in on this SEC baseball game on a week day when normally that type of money doesn’t happen?,’” said Hammer.

That’s when industry watch dogs started digging deeper.

“Folks from Louisiana, folks from Ohio, folks from Las Vegas, all part of these watch dog groups came together and they came to the conclusion that the head coach of Alabama was part of what’s going on here. Now, there’s a lot we don’t know.” said Hammer.
