I bet their NIL still kicks the shite out of ours. The Morgan and Morgan guy is a UF alum but 90% of his donated money goes to Kentucky.

That’s a lot of words to say the success had everything to do with Saban and nothing to do with Alabama.
yeah man, nevermind that Bama was by far and away the most dominant SEC program of all time before him.

They can't just get every redneck to chip in $5 for ach tooth they're missing? They would be flush with cash.

Or they could just add $5 to every t-shirt their front runner Walmart fans buy.

SEC dealership NIL money aint got shite compared to Big 10 boosters... even more so that they've added USC, Oregon and the other Cali schools

A vast majority of the talent comes from the SEC footprint. Not much coming out of big10 land aside from SoCal

I don’t believe that for a second tbh. They recruited like hell last season and again this year have a good class. Oh well you won’t see me shedding any tears over it.

Doubt it. Probably trying to get donors to ante up by saying they’re poor and need more.

At a high level, recruiting hasn’t been Alabama’s issue in the NIL era.

But players and their families see this too. The last thing you want to look like is poor

I am bit jealous of all the success they have had over the years. I am enjoying what is going on right now, not because I want Deboer to fail or anything but I just find it amusing on how their fans literally become depressed whiners because their team lost a few games. I love college football and the Hawkeyes but it is purely in an entertainment form and meet up with family and friends to watch the game, socialize and drink beer. If they win it is a huge bonus and trust me you need a lot of beer the past few seasons to watch our offense. I would never consider committing a criminal act, flipping off a camera because they lost a game. Many people who are not Bama fans are loving this. I don't think Deboer realized how maniacal that fan base is... oh and it wasn't a fair catch!!!

Well they had NIL for 17 years before it was legal.

All their analysts were in full view this past weekend. Pictures of their coaches up in the air, three rows of coaches sitting close together.

Other teams had a single row and they had enough room to jump up and dow in excitement.

most dominant SEC program of all time before him.

From when Saban started at LSU to when Saban went to Bama, LSU won 87.5% of the games against Alabama.

Saban won 76.4% of the time against LSU while at Bama.

I've been saying for a while that it's the Wild West and at some point even the really wealthy donors are gonna start running out of money to give. Not sure if this is that but could be an indicator.

Exactly the argument everyone outside of Alabama made for 15 years.

Exact same argument everyone makes about LSU. And Texas. And Oregon. and Ohio State.

The head coach doesn't matter when you have the highest payroll. You think Ryan Day was the best coach in college football last year? Or ever?

Ryan Day wasn't even the best football coach in Ohio but he won a national championship.

Alabama was king when $50k for a top player meant a lot. Now with those same players getting millions, they won’t be able to compete like they used to. I expect teams like Texas Twch and BYU to take huge steps forward with their NILs and teams on the field or court.

AJ is right but that isn’t anything new. We have a lot of rich boosters but we don’t have that many “wealthy” boosters that can just throw millions at NIL. We survived because we had Saban and kids were willing to take an NIL paycut to play for him and get the exposure & path to the NFL. With him gone, the hope was we would continue to be a Top 5 or 10 team and players who grew up seeing the dynasty would still come to Alabama due the brand. If we have a losing season or two, that brand equity gets stripped away and we’re stuck with an NIL that isn’t comparable to the other blue bloods.

I’m shocked to hear such a realistic take from a bama fan.
