I can’t get a credit card from my bank with an almost 800 credit score, six figure salary, and this dude gets a $4 million loan after defaulting on a $600,000 one? Sounds like the bank’s issues.

These athletes... just take your regular salary and throw it all in various savings accounts/CDs and take every single endorsement deal you can and live off of those.

Or heck, if you can’t do that, just bank the roster and signing bonuses and live off the base. It’s plenty of money, especially for a guy like Peterson.
He doesn’t seem to have spent incredibly lavishly, so I’m inclined to believe he trusted someone who screwed him over...but why do you even need some kind of “advisor” or “money handler”? Can you open a bank account and a brokerage account with vanguard? You’re good then.

I will never understand the way some of these guys go broke like this. I understand that people take advantage of them and I have no experience managing that kind of money, but I'm pretty confident that I'd be able to get by without being with $100MM over 12 years.
