San Francisco sports radio in meltdown this morning. They want to fire everybody for missing out on Judge. Some of them are saying the giants should’ve offered him 400 million.

I thought he should've left. NY fans are the epitome of what have you done for me lately and he'll never top last season. This will be remembered as a horrible contract.

GOATs are rarely associated with teams that don't win championships, but maybe he's an exception. Ted Williams is one

Back to the team, they also get what they deserve, but of course, this isn't about the team.

There will be a major asterisk next to Judge’s record now after all the Goldilocks stuff came out. Let’s see if he can do it next year with the pressure of a 40 million dollar contract and no juiced baseballs.

Pujols getting a 10 year contract in '12 was perhaps the pinnacle of this.

So was Mike Trout signing a 12 year contract. I don’t care how good he is. A 12 year contract to a 28 year old who can’t ever seem to stay healthy for a full season is fricking insane. Oddly enough, the same terrible franchise inked both of those deals

he’s a great ball player, sure, but he’s been to the post season once and didn’t win a game. How valuable can he be???

Good decision for Judge. He is perfectly suited for Yankee stadium.

$40MIL/AAV

That contract will not age well.

Good luck, Yankees.

Hard pass. He's played more than 120 games three times in seven seasons. I don't think NY had any choice though.

The NY media melt would have been pretty hilarious though.

He'd have to produce like 2022 for 5 or 6 of those 9 seasons (and still be good the rest) for this to work out.

Good luck with that.

I’ll bet against just about any position player being signed to a long-term deal into their 40s. Pujols was the best player in baseball too when he signed his deal. That doesn’t mean the contract wasn’t still dumb
