paul is not going anywhere. this is one of the least likely rumors i've heard. trading paul for expiring contracts wouldn't just kill the hornets in NOLA, it would kill them altogether for years even if they were able to relocate

If the Hornets trade CP3 away, they might as well move to another city. I wouldn't go to another game.

great point, if they did move to:
Pittsburgh
KC
Anaheim

they would need a face to build the marketing around and dumping an all around good guy like CP3 just before they moved would be a disaster

it's just not economically feasible even if shinn were determined to get out of new orleans. this is just popping up because cuban has publically said that he expects to be able to make some big moves this summer with other teams needing to dump salaries. the hornets looked desparate to dump salary with the chandler deal so i guess people are going to talk

Hornets:
Dirk
Jason Terry
*draft Ty Lawson in the NBA draft

Mavs:
CP3
Peja
Posey

It works with the draft machine. Getting Dirk and Terry while getting rid of Peja would be the only way I would even consider it. Since the Mavs would never do it there is no way it would happen.

Hornets After Trade:

Line UP 1
Ty Lawson
Jason Terry
Julian Wright
David West
Dirk Nowitski

Line Up 2
Ty Lawson
Jason Terry
Dirk Nowitski
David West
Tyson Chandler

We would be capable of beating the Lakers; however, this would never happen unless Cuban wanted to start over.

dirk can't play center. you'd have to trade west or sit him. and ty lawson projects as a lottery pick

You basically get rid of Peja and Posey's horrible contracts and now become a deadly team. I love Chris Paul, but if I got rid of those contracts and got Dirk and Terry I would be happy. We would have a great rotation in the front court with Wright, Dirk, West, Chandler, and Armstrong. Terry and Butler would be good at SG. The drafting of Lawson would be a great young addition that should be there at our pick.

This is if we were definitely trading him away to Dallas. I think it would be smarter to look at other avenues to overhaul the team. i do not think we are capable of winning a championship with the current roster and that is the main goal isn't it?

It is your smaller line up of playing with two PF. Dirk can play PF or SF. There aren't many beast centers in the league. That is about the only use Tyson Chandler has on a team is to guard the better offensive centers.

This entire scenario is working off of the absolutely baseless claim that the franchise is in some sort of legitimate financial hole.
