They are in a hole. They basically are not capable of improving the team outside of the draft. Peja, Posey, and Peterson have unbelievably horrible contracts. David West is an all star and in his prime. The way the contracts are we probably can't improve the team until he is on the downside of his game.
We have Tyson who is a guy that can guard the elite centers, but has no type of offensive game and doesn't grab a lot of rebounds. He makes a ton of money.
Peja is streaky and plays no defense. He is the highest paid played on the team.
We are screwed until 2011/12 unless we make some changes.

its the truth. more people go to see chris paul
I do see where you're coming from here, but:

look at the attendance figures.
How does this prove your theory? The attendance figures dont tell you why people are there.

more people go to see chris paul be the best PG in the league than see the hornets
So, if CP3 was putting up the same numbers he is now but the Hornets were 25-55 right now, the Arena would still be selling out?

If we get value for David West and then trade Antonio Daniel's valuable expiring contract next season we could be okay for the start of 2010/2011.
But that's assuming that Jeff Bower won't completely frick up again this offseason.
His margin for error is nothing. He's going to be wasting Chris Paul's time next season due to his horseshite, shortsighted moves. If he doesn't have the Hornets completely retooled and reloaded for the beginning of the 2010/2011 season you're going to start hearing rumbling of CP3 wanting out.

just look at these ridiculous contracts. It's absolutely infuriating.
Bower is such a shite for brains. He really is.
Predrag Stojakovic - 2 more years
$14,202,000
$15,336,000
James Posey - 3 more years
$6,031,800
David West has one of the most ridiculously beautiful contracts in the NBA. And we'll have to jettison him this offseason. Unbelievable. I don't trust Bower to get value for DX either, because everybody knows that we HAVE to trade him.
$6,478,600
$6,925,400

Why do we have to trade him?
When is he due for a new contract?
