I think the NBA players would try harder because nationalism is at play. Most NBA players have 0 allegiance to their teams or what conference they are in, or if they were drafted by Team Shaq or Lebron's all star team. They don't care or have any allegiance to them.
Playing in a country vs country tournament is different than representing the Western Conference, Team Lebron or Team Shaq or Charles.
